Have managed to get a few more done on weekends when I'm not working on the house or the GT40.

Seeing other people's work reminds me how far I still have to go.

I have been tempted to try an art class, anyone been to one?
I go weekly for 2 hrs per week & belong to my local Art Society.

My interest is Watercolours & Pencil,Pen & Ink plus wash, but have a long way to go especially to match the fantastic works posted on here

Great spider KM. Not easy to get the perception of depth you have achieved with watercolours.
Thanks, I sold the spider a couple of months ago and I've been asked to do another. Spiders are good fun to paint.
.
And you can always sell the pictures on the web! tumbleweed

biggrin Mart.

I'm struggling to find the right thing for my guest room. Mrs 1879 and I like lowbrow stuff like this Xue Wang print that we've got in our bedroom but it's not really suitable for the room in which various family and friends stay from time to time:

I've got a couple of Tony Smith Italian Job prints in the hall and landing but again they're not really bedroom material. Rather than pay a few hundred quid for another print I'd like something original in there but stumped for something suitable. I'm hoping one of you talented people will be able to recommend something otherwise I'll just keep watching the thread and may see something I like so keep posting your work please!

Nice work MF. Like those.

DRFC1879, you could check out Janet Hulland's work. She is local to me and her work is very popular. Unfortunately the pictures on her web page are very small. However, she may be happy to send you some higher res images if you asked.

There's some great stuff on here. This is my effort. Started art classes last May having not drawn since school over 30 years ago. Never used anything other than pencils before . This is my first effort with pastels . Few things could have done better but overall quite pleased

My husband ' nemisis ' paints, he finds it hard to sell through any medium other than face to face, people ask as many questions about his state of mind and past history as they do about the painting being viewed. He likes your 18plus paintings as I do, so life like, not keen on the horses heads as we are not horsey types but he has asked me to ask you why do you often use an almost black back drop when painting a horses head?
He thinks you are better than you know, not that he is an expert, but praise from him is praise indeed.
Sorry I only just realised that was aimed at me.

Thank you! It really makes a defrence when someone I dont know complments my work, I know its not just friends of famely feeling like they have to be nice.

The horse heads are commisions and I just do what they want, they pick the background. But it makes life easy when they want a solid colour. smile

It's taken me a while, but I have finally done a painting of a car. This is "1016 at Dusk".
