I would have added him as a friend, then "liked" his facebook rant.

So i asked my next door neighbor for a loan of his jump-leads this morning. 1st time I've ever knocked his door for anything. His response at the time was great. used them and handed them back. While at work i thought i'd pop on Facebook and send him a PM and thank him again for the loan of the jump-leads. We're not Facebook "friends" , but i can see stuff on his timeline as its not hidden. I see this post put up this morning....

People who ask for favors. Surely it's only a “favor” if you can offer something in return at some point to the person. The returning of the “favor”. If not, you're only asking the person to plug the gaps in your life you failing to address yourself . Either because you can't or are incapable of plugging them yourself. If you ask for their time/money/social connections / abilities, can you ever really return this “favor”? If not you're merely consuming their excess to plug your failures. You're absorbing the excess they have in reserve. The only other comparison I can think of is a leech. It lives of the excess of others. So before you ask anyone for a favor, ask yourself first. Do I have anything to offer this person? If the answer is no! It's a good chance you're a leech!

Jeez, i'll not bother next time. I did not realise asking for a go of a set of jump leads was such a big issue???
It sounds like something one of my facebook friends would post. He always posts long st like this to make him self seem intelligent and interesting.....

In reality he's an attention seeking, hipster knob socket.

I wouldn't even let on that you've seen that post and if you feel it's suitable, drop of a bottle of wine to say thanks.

Reminds me of the time my neighbour asked to borrow my power washer. Only the pr!ck used it for 10 hours solid to clean his driveway.

What, on top of the 4-pack of bud?

I seen he was a Budweiser drinker, so just passed on a 4 pack of the stuff and thanked him for "being an absolute life save this morning".
Out of interest - how many hours of use was acceptable when you lend a power-washer?
I borrowed a roof-rack a few months ago and kept it for days... have I taken liberties?

The guy was great about it, even said he had a older set in the hut he never uses and will pass them over this weekend! This seems like a totally different guy to his FB post. Caught him on a bad day perhaps?
You went through his bins as well?

Hell of a neighbour you are!

What a strange thread.

Why would you think his post is about you?

Why are you looking at what he posts on FB?

Why do you care?

I am posting this on the internet, so can see the irony, but some people shouldn't have access to it.
