Both our cars have lights that come on in the direction you're turning - but they don't use the fog lights, they're separate bulbs in the headlight unit. They actually are very useful at low speed manoeuvring and tight bends at night, but I can imagine that foglights would be too low down to make as much difference (the kerb probably blocks all the light?)

Before I knew about the foglight/turning light thing, I kept thinking "wow there are a lot of cars with malfunctioning foglights!"
It took about a year before it finally clicked what was happening biggrin
you are not alone- I think I had to ask on here why so many new cars had only one foglamp operating on them- often seen when turning. A stupid idea anyway IMO. I manage to drive around corners without foglights to assist me. mainly because I'm not a mong.

anyway, not much tops a Nissan Juke for looking mental, with its triple stack of lights on: really poor design.

Having to re-wind the BBC Breakfast weather forecast this morning. TWICE!

So distracted by Carol Kirkwood in that dress that I couldn't make any sense of the actual forecast the first two times I attempted to watch/listen to it...

Mmmmm! Carol... cloud9
Please, get some serious professional help. And soon.
Well, I'd happily help her wake up the neighbours! cloud9

My misses has a Duke. Yes, odd thing, with three separate lights. However, the DRLs turn off when you put the sidelights or main lights on. This must be a rules/law thing, as they don't turn off on most cars when you put the main lights on...

ugly beast but she loves it.

I thought I'd bump this, as there's been a fair bit of it from some American commentators in today's media.

It's Moscow, one quick clean simple word, not two long drawn out ones. The vast majority of your countrymen can do it so why not you?

Apparently there'll also be a protest in Cambridge, and our local MP is delighted to be speaking "at this important event".

Cars with only one rear foglight and one rear reversing light.

I find it annoying beyond reason that it is not symmetrical, even though it is something I rarely encounter, but as I've spent the morning going to Heathrow and back in the thick fog, its just an awkward sight to see.

I've lost count of the number of times over the decades that I have woken in the night in a panic, convinced that this time I really have broken / dislocated my arm. But once I'm fully awake and compos mentis I calm down and realise that, no, it's just gone to sleep yet again. smile
Woke Up one Sat morning with an arm wrapped around my neck! No feeling so "it's not mine" and total panic as it was Hairy!! "Oh Sh*t, what happened last night. Took me 5 mins to pluck up the guts to move and find it was me!! I was still totally p*ssed in my defence though!!!

I'm with you. They might not really need two. But damn it they should be symmetrical and that means one on each side!

Neighbours who cannot be bothered sorting out some sort of bell for their front door and insist on visitors or their kids friends banging away on the door at all hours.

Fish n chip shops that use polystyrene trays annoy me beyond reason because the physical size of them means they can only put a handful of chips in the bottom in order for the fish to fit on top, but even then the fish is too long to fit in the tray and they insist on closing the lid which mashes the fish ends. So you get a mashed fish, a pitiful amount of chips and they still want a fiver for it grumpy. If you go to a nearby competitor that uses paper you get at least twice as many if not three times as many chips, the same size fish but not mashed at the ends and it still costs you a fiver. Polystyrene trays are fine for burgers, not fish n chips. They only time they're acceptable for fish n chips is if you're buying to eat now as it's easier to balance a tray on your palm than a bunch of papers. yes

Add to that F&C shops which wrap your order in paper and then pop the 'parcel' in a plastic carrier bag.
Makes the meal sweat and turns the whole lot mushy.

YES! I'd forgotten about that one. They nearly always do that with burgers in polystyrene boxes and when you open the box your chips are swimming in quarter inch of water and your burger bun is like a wet dish cloth irked.

Also on the same topic, chips ("fries") that have clearly been sat about for the past few hours and chucked back in the fryer to heat them up. You can always tell because they're hard and chewy rather than soft and crisp.

Going back to chippies - places that only cook to order. I would expect to have to wait 10 mins if I go in shortly before closing while they chuck in a fish and some chips, but there's a place near me that usually has a steady stream of punters but even if you go in at 6pm on a Friday they won't have any fish or chips ready and you need to order it and then stand waiting for 10-15 mins while they get some out and cook them. I had a argument with them about it and they claim that the customers want fresh food so they only cook to order and you have to wait. I told them I wouldn't wait and now go elsewhere where I don't have to wait!

And yes the irony of those 2 paragraphs together has not escaped me but there's a big difference between having some fish and chips sat piping hot in a cabinet for 10 mins vs. having a stone cold basket of fries dunked back in hot oil after being sat out in the open for hours.

Incredible!

I am fed up of hearing this word over and over again. People use it instead of 'very' now. I'm incredibly tired, for instance. Listen to the news and you will hear it several times.

Why do people need to cheapen words like this? What would they do if something very unusual and difficult to believe really happened?
