Things that annoy you beyond reason...(Vol 4)
Discussion
Car dealers!
Been looking for a particular car in a particular spec for several months now.
Just missed one as I wasn't quick enough.
Saw another on Monday but only minimal details and few external pics - Emailed the dealer telling him I was going away on bus until Thursday and could i put down a refundable deposit as subject to inspection and his seeing my car to firm up a P/Ex I was sure it was what I wanted.
Didn't hear back for 2 days at which point I was out of the country and couldn't call him. Got an email asking when I would like to view. Told him this weekend - Saturday. Its a 200 mile round trip. I had a few things planned which I shifted around.
Sat AM I called and text him to confirm I was going to set off. After almost an hour he called back to say he was ill and and sent me a text earlier that morning (Yeah 20 minutes earlier it turned out) and could we re-arrange as his bus partner was also busy with his 7 kids that weekend.
Can't do the week as I'm working - Next Sat we have visitors, week after I have a funeral on the Saturday (Don't ask!) so can't do next two Sats.
Would I like him to ship the car to me and collect my p/ex - erm No I wouldn't. Not buying a car sight unseen from a dealer 100 miles away. Its nothing that speacial.
He asks if I'd like to view today (Sun) - OK, if I can organise to shift some things around with SWMBO then maybe and said I'd text later. Set a text 6.45PM saying hope he's feeling better and yes I'd like to arrange to travel up this morning.
It's now almost mid day and no call or text
DO YOU WANT TO SELL A CAR OR NOT?
I know its not a huge amount of money but surely its common (or not so common) courtesy not to leave someone hanging on for a reply.
Stuff it, there'll be others.

Lockers that require you to put a £1 coin in them to operate, when said lockers are located in an already secure facility of a hotel leisure area.
Wife and I were staying in quite a nice hotel over the weekend and we fancied an hour or so in the pool/sauna etc. Went down to get changed and only once I'm wearing my trunks do I discover the lockers need a coin. WHY? I left pretty much everything in my hotel room because I dont need my phone or wallet to go swimming etc.

I think it's to discourage people from wandering off with the key. Shakermaker said:

- it's a 20 minute news bulletin (national and international too) and I need to be reminded after just one item there's other important st to hear? What kind of muppets do they suppose listen to the News in 2017?
Isn't it about time they inserted videos of cats on skateboards to encourage us to keep watching? Just in case we switched off between Labour imploding in the polls and famine in Africa plus Trump, Brexit and French elections - it's not like there's a lack of content, is it?

Unbelievably, some cars until relatively recently only had 5 digits on the odometer. I seem to recall some small Fords fitting this criteria.
If this was the case, it would legitimately show exactly as you've shown.
My Cortina had a five digit odometer. It had been "around the clock" twice that I knew about, as it'd been my uncle's car for many years. Possibly once more round the clock as it was a rep's company car before that. Three engine changes, two gearboxes and a rear axle in it's lifetime, all 'part worn' stuff from scrap yards and fitted by my old dad. It was a right old bag'o'ste, that car. But it was my first car and I still miss it!If this was the case, it would legitimately show exactly as you've shown.

The new term "snowflake " ,crops up all over the place.....
Agreed. In fact any label that seeks to invalidate the other person's argument, whether it be calling someone a "snowflake", "Social Justice Warrior", "White Knight", "nerd", "sheeple", or whatever. I see it as a form of Ad Hominem from someone who is unable to debate on equal terms. "Oh you're just a [insert term here]" is an attempt to shut down the debate by putting a stigma-attached label on the other person.
Website's search facility that never produces anything like what you've searched for even after it suggested the words itself. EG go to Wickes website & search for caber floor. It suggests 'caber tongue & groove flooring' & I think 'that's exactly it. I'll click it'. Pages of fking ladders, garden sheds, bath panels & everything else they fking stock but caber flooring! So many websites have this issue, but type into Google 'caber flooring Wickes' and it takes you straight to the product! WTF is going on???
