One word: 'Tanaka'.
?? Just had a look on their website and doesnt look anything special.
Over the years I've had strimmers coming out of my ears, but none as good as my 'Tiger' Tanaka. (A Bond reference.)

The wire, almost, never breaks, is easy to thread and the auto feed is superb.

Can cut up against fences, concrete, chicken wire etc.

After all those other rubbish machines, a big konnichiwa to Tiger.

Agreed. AM/PM is used in America now pretty much solely. fk the 12hr clock.

It's fine when they ask first.

That's fine. Perfect, in fact. I could read that once a minute for an hour before I got irritated.

Microwave ovens.

Apologies for going a bit mumsnet....

Microwave ovens that require button presses before the thing will cook.

I want a microwave that requires a quick twiddle of the dial to set the time and that is it. What I don't want is to have to set the power level first. Who in their right mind would use one of these things on anything other than full blast, that is what they are for, cooking food much much faster than a normal oven would.

And whilst on the subject, why is it that every single ready meal never has the wattage of your microwave so you end up guessing the time.

Being a connoisseur of ready meals, in recent years I've noticed that a fair few require user input half way through cooking. No. That is against the whole point of them.

You should be able to read the label and instantly find the cooking time, no guessing, then dial the time in without messing about with power levels and then walk away until it is finished cooking.

Lastly, I hate masterchef and everything it stands for!

Mine has a "Quick start", single press button for one minute on full power. Multiple presses = multiple minutes. smile

Surely this depends on the microwave? I own two - an all-singing, all dancing, microwave-combi-convection-fan-oven-grille-vibrator-bathduck and a cheapo Sainsbury's microwave for the microwaving of stuff whilst the main one is hot and ovening.

El-cheap requires a twiddle of the knob for time and a nudge of the knob (missus) to start.

Sounds like ours at work except it's in 30 sec increments. It's bristling with features and more buttons than a calculator, but everyone just uses 'quick start'.

Just 30 minutes too early.

Having a sandwich in the range called a "Big Mac" doesn't help the ignorant much either.
