Bloody autocorrect. Should have been 'stropped'.

Are there still tickets available for Farnborough? Could be an alternative

In years gone by there has always been the ability to buy on the gate...depending on how much you want to go could set your alarm hour early and head down to the gates?

The Top Gear Facebook page, even with the series over and the magazine running features, people still have to moan about the new series. I actually think there are people who think the magazine features are clips from the show, because they're so closed minded and downright refused to watch it.

Also, people who seem completely surprised at airline check in desks to be asked for their passports and tickets, then spend 5 minutes rummaging about in their bags trying to find them.
I agree with this. People that take an age to check in. The last 2 flights I was on, this happened. To make it worse I had arrived just as check in was opening so there was no queue, but I as I got closer to the desk Mr & Mrs. Dither got in front. 10minutes they took to check in. I couldn't hear what the conversation was but it appeared they were having a game of 20 questions with the check in woman after they had located their passports.

On the return journey there was a guy checking in, who again was in front of me. He seemed to have a folder with enough paperwork to confuse a Philadelphia lawyer. And most of that paperwork seemed to be spread over the check in desk for reasons unknown. Then he had to bundle it all up again and put it back in his folder.

What do these folk find to do that seems to make the job of checking in so difficult? I can't remember ever checking in for a flight where check in takes anything but a couple of minutes. And thats including weighing and tagging the luggage.

People who dawdle up to the traffic lights in front of you when you just know they will change to red at any second.
Always good driving practice. Why approach at speed if you know they are going to change to red? Duh!

And if they are going to change to red any second it must mean they are amber which means stop if it safe to do so. That's what they are doing, yes?

If they put their foot down they would be through before they changed to red.

Can I remind you of the thread title? This isn't 'Advanced Driving' or 'Plod & Law' or any other advice needed. rolleyes

I haven't driven with my mum for years, but back when I was a kid and used to be driven by her, she would approach a green light and slow down and slow down and slow down until it turned red and then say "I knew it was going to do that".

"brain-out" to describe a movie experience.

Look, just admit you enjoyed the simple action flick starring Stallone. Don't, please, describe the experience as 'brain-out' because you're ashamed/embarrassed you liked something so simple. Not every movie is Being John Malkovich, but most ARE supposed to be entertainment.

We're all used to idiots driving all the way down the "Ahead only" lane and then cutting in but this took the biscuit for me.

Coming back across the Eurotunnel last week, you go through the first barrier for a quick show of your ticket and Passport then there are 5 or 6 orderly queues down to the proper Passport Control kiosks. Everybody is sitting patiently in their line when a Transit drives the whole way down between two queues and pushes in right at the front where you wait outside the crosshatch section.

Really surprised the border control bods walking about didn't pull him over.

Hairing splits.

I do believe that you all know exactly what I was driving at.

Thing with traffic lights is that if you drive slowly enough they will always change to red before you reach them.

It's just as well we fit traffic lights onto more and more roundabouts. Having discombobulated people with the fantastical idea of 'giving way to traffic approaching from the right' you then hit 'maximum dither' by installing effing lights too. There could be elderly couples in a Honda Jazz's circulating Britains interchanges for weeks...

The DoT needs to decide - lights or roundabouts - but not both.
