The acceptance that parking opposite or on junctions is now OK.

Our locals roads are used by double decker buses and this morning I sat and watched one spending a good 5mins (I gave up and went another way) trying to turn left by doing a 100 point shuffle no thanks to a row of cars parked directly opposite the Give Way line and cars parked on either side of the junction mouth.

I think i am turning into a grumpy old git. I drove to B&Q yesterday and no end of things wound me up.
I was at a set of light that turned green, it was then a jogger decided to run across the road making me stop in the middle of the junction, she didn't even jog faster.
I then pulled into the car park in an end space next to a parent and child spot. A car then pulled up and a 10-12 year old hopped out. I thought they were only for small children that required assistance getting out of the car?
Driving home there are a little old lady in a car at the front of the traffic lights turning left. The filter was on and no amount of cars beeping their horns persuaded this lady that it was ok to turn left. Two cycles of the lights later we went...
The final one was driving up to my house there is a steep hill followed by a blind sharp bend. A car decided to park on the double yellows there but he was apparently allowed to do it as he had his hazards on.

The BBC.. For their massively overpaid execs and 'stars', not to mention their politically correct nimbyism etc etc ,
plus the money they waste on exec pay-offs, sending far too many staff to big events like the Olympics so everyone can have a great jolly at the license payers expense..w@nkers

A particular annoyance is the way they report winter weather, endlessly referring to ' cold snap' , 'big freeze' etc and to script they then send a reporter to battle through a blizzard so they can stand outside some council gritting depot spouting the usual winter cliches..

Supposedly waterproof coats which do little or nothing to impede the ingress of rainwater frown

On my road there is a blind corner, fairly fast but sharp. The utter nobber that parks his Peugeot van on the blind corner infuriates me. He has a whole driveway, a fairly big one too yet he still parks on the blind corner. furious

Tourists! Now I know I am lucky to live somewhere people want to pay to visit and we do rely on them to keep the place going, but the behaviour of some of them is unbelievable.
Can't find a toilet? Might as well have a dump wherever you like, in people's gardens, next to a tea room, at the side of the road, wherever takes your fancy. People have been seen pissing up wheelie bins, I passed a woman squatting in full view of the road.

Rubbish in the car, just lob it out the window, someone is bound to pick it up aren't they?

As for the driving, most of them seem to leave their common sense at home. Lets drive along at 15mph looking at the scenery, thats fine except you are ignoring the line of traffic stuck behind you on the single track road. Then you meet a similar convoy coming the other way and spend 20 minutes trying to fit in the same passing place. Why has someone been following me for 20 minutes on a single track road flashing their lights and beeping their horn? They must want me to drive more slowly and refuse to pull over.

Can't reverse your car, don't worry everyone else will reverse 200 yards even though you are only ten feet past a passing place. Or even better create a new passing place by driving on the verge, don't worry the ditch hidden in the long grass is only 2ft deep, someone will be along in a couple of hours to tow you out.

There is someone on the narrow verge of a single track road, with two big dogs (me), why not try and drive past at 50mph? What could possibly go wrong?

Want to take a photo, no problem, just leave the car in the middle of the road with all the doors open.

Many of them are great and we all try to be as patient as possible but it is hard at times.

Surely, that is the behaviour of scum rather than specifically a tourist as such?

True, it just doesn't happen much in the winter when there are a lot less tourists. We do need more public toilets, but it's still no excuse. Some of the bins at a local beauty spot rarely get emptied but that's because the bin lorry was having to reverse nearly a mile through badly parked cars, because they had blocked the turning bay, and it was taking him over an hour because people wouldn't move out of the way.

All that jazz

Add sender to contacts then try to call it, it will show you the number, then you can add it to your SMS block list if you're on Android. bowtie

Actually I forgot to add one which I saw in the B&Q car park.
People could be the best drivers in the world, safe considerate and obey all the rules, that is until they get into a car park. All the rules go out the window, no curtsey, driving the wrong way around it and parking where the hell they want to so they don't have to walk far.

People throwing rubbish out of a car, full stop.

I find Red Bull cans, McDonalds wrappers, crisp packets at the end of my drive and along my verges. The rubbish is always chav consumables. Scum.

I live in the Lake District. I feel your pain!

The locals in Keswick call them 'Crag Rats' biggrin

But as you say, we should be grateful they bring so much money to the area.

I forgot to mention the ones who were stood on our drive watching whilst their young children threw stones at the alpacas. Luckily for them my wife had only just got out of the shower and wasn't dressed and I was out or some choice words would have been said. They had disappeared by the time she got out there.

Yep one near me, one entrance, one exit and one way. I have seen diving out the entrance, in via the exit and driving against the arrows and one way signs
