We ended up at the last place, easy to park and friendly dealer, car was nice enough but overpriced and wouldn't budge much.
Why did you go and look at a car that was overpriced? As somebody who sells cars this is my biggest bug bear. All the time I hear "Its overpriced" or the old favourite "Theres a cheaper one at X" - If its overpriced or theres one cheaper elsewhere why are you here!!

And just to add, my comment about car dealers was a bit tongue in cheek, plenty of decent ones and decent places about, we just felt a bit unlucky yesterday.

Yeah fair point but the price it was up for would have been ok if the condition was a bit better. Scratches and scuff marks over one wheel arch, inside was tatty, also the advisories (pitted rear brake discs) weren't going to be resolved. There were just to many 'little niggles' to make it worth the price it was up for in my opinion.

Sounds like you were being reasonable then. And just to add, my comment about car dealers was a bit tongue in cheek, plenty of decent ones and decent places about, we just felt a bit unlucky yesterday.
My post does sound like a bit of a dig, only because ive just had someone here trying to get £1500 off a white X5 M sport. Mine was the cheapest White m sport on Auto Trader however Captain roid rage (you know the type, arms the size of an 8yr old child and a vest that looked like it was made for an 8yr old!) and his Ronseal brown mrs were adament they weren't looking for a white one it just happened that mine was white In the end he bought it at the price I offered after he tried to walk away but his Mrs threw a paddy and said they weren't leaving without it
2 things this weekend:
The M11 between the A11 and Stansted junctions. So many times you spot a slowish-moving HGV in the inside lane way off in the distance, with no traffic behind it. Meanwhile the outside lane is one long queue of traffic waiting their "turn" to overtake. Keep left until you get to the overtake point, you retards.
And Cambridge City Council, whose policy of fortnightly bin emptying meant I once again had to de-maggot my green bin at the weekend.

If your green bin is for recycling then stop putting food in it.People who misuse their recycling bins, then annoy me beyond comprehension.

I did say 'If' as I know bin colours change throughout the country and don't make sense - green is er, green here.People who jump to conclusions annoy me beyond comprehension.
I keep my maggots in the black bin during the Summer months, too cold for them right now.

Wheelie bin liners are your friend...Local govt are ignoring us.
When asked why they say its to promote recycling and costs wont be reduced as a result as bin men are still doing weekly collections just collecting 2 bins rather than 3 and any surplus funds left will be spent on other projects rather than reducing council tax.. WTAF!
There is just me and the mrs at home, god knows how people cope with 2 or 3 kids. At least 2 houses have started having private bin collections now. Insane if you ask me.

We have just gone onto 3 week collections. Boils my p*ss. Pay the best part of £3000 a year for this sh*t.

Many years ago whilst living in Hartlepool I resorted to private collections from Biffa and reused to pay council tax due to the shoddy services and how I didn't actually use any other than arguable street lighting. Went to court a few times over it and eventually moved out of the borough, the council chose not to pursue the 6k-ish they believed I owed them and can see this sort of action becoming more commonplaceLocal govt are ignoring us.

I feel for the binmen too, it must be lousy having to handle disgusting smelling maggot ridden rubbish.
I think the garden rubbish bin should be scrapped and the normal household waste done once a week.

Something certainly has to be done, it is a basic human right and need to have this kind of waste removed and not be left standing whilst it decays. I wouldn't mind if they left it two weeks when it was cold, but not when it's warm.

In Horsham you now pay an additional £30 per year if you want them to collect your garden waste bin every fortnight. I feel for the binmen too, it must be lousy having to handle disgusting smelling maggot ridden rubbish.

I don't pay and instead redistribute my grass cuttings around the garden to act as natural compost for the plants. The cuttings from the front lawn just go in the normal bin though on top of the cat litter...

Mine get round this by collecting kitchen waste once a week. The normal rubbish every other week and recycling alternate weeks (glass, plastic one week, cardboard & paper the next) Our kitchen food waste (council supplied lidded bin) is bagged (degradable liners) and goes in the garden waste bin. Other kitchen waste (small pedal bin under the sink) is also bagged and goes in a miscellaneous waste bin. Those two bins are emptied fortnightly and we've never (to my knowledge) had infested bins (other than the occasional slugs and snails in the garden waste).
The other bins we have, emptied fortnightly, are for plastic and paper, and it's horrifying the amount of plastic we throw away. It's usually full after four weeks. We don't have glass recycling, so I have to lug two bags each of 6 empty bottles to the nearest facility every year (cough).
