Quorn mince - fine, it's Quorn and it's minced (they don't call it Quorn beef mince)
Quorn sausages - fine, it's Quorn in sausage shape (they don't call it Quorn pork sausages)
So why are Quorn pieces called Quorn chicken pieces when they're not chicken and should just be called Quorn pieces? (following the same format as the mince and the sausages).
The whole 'veggie food made to look & taste like meat' thing - if you want to eat something which tastes like meat, eat meat !Quorn sausages - fine, it's Quorn in sausage shape (they don't call it Quorn pork sausages)

Some Quorn stuff, decently cooked, tastes nice. And that's fine.

They're labelled chicken style pieces. I eat loadsa quorn, I'm not a vegetarian but think eating less meat is better for me, the environment and the animals (yes, I know, there's a measure of hypocrisy here if I'm not prepared to give up meat entirely, but roast dinner and meat gravy). I've got peppered beef-style slices in my sarnies today, with horseradish and tomatoes. Jolly nice.Quorn sausages - fine, it's Quorn in sausage shape (they don't call it Quorn pork sausages)

I don't think I should "just eat meat" as the common sense brigade cry, there are some compelling reasons not to do so.
It's the lack of order and consistency that I object to.
Quorn mince
Quorn sausages
Quorn pieces
That's all fine, there's no need to mention or attribute beef, pork or chicken to any of them, but if they're going to, then why do it for just one of them? they should do it for all of them.

I would hazard a guess that in the cases of mince and sausages, the beef/pork style bit is implicit. Most mince is beef, most sausages are pork. "Pieces" on its own though could mean anything, there's no type of meat specifically aligned to the concept of pieces on the whole, hence a need to explain that they're chicken style pieces.Quorn mince

Perfectly entitled to be annoyed of course, this is the beyond reason thread!

The fact that meat names are mentioned on the labels of a product that contains absolutely no meat annoys me beyond reason. People eating stty food substitutes to appear all holier-than-thou about saving animals and the planet also annoy me beyond reason too. A couple for me today:
1. Sliced goods (cheese, meat etc) in packages where you are forced to open the plastic cover in a particular direction but it's at the wrong end so you have to open it fully to extract the first slices.
2. Work are running a competition where employees kids are invited to submit drawings on the theme of "what Christmas means to me". The winner will be used on an email mailer to customers. It seems many of my colleagues have Children who thing Christmas is about wasting time scribbling on paper or who, at the age of 1, are capable of some incredibly impressive fine motor skills when decorating a hand print to look like something seasonal. Once colleague has submitted a photograph of a 3D angel on a worktop.

All you need is "Jingle All The Way" and "Home Alone" on DVD anyway and they can usually be had for £2 on eBay.The Christmas Channel, shows various never heard of Christmas films, but you want to see a GOOD Christmas Film, ELf, National Lampoons etc? People who don't thank you when you've gone out of your way to help them.
I had an email from someone on Monday morning, wanting some help that I have done in the past. Albeit, my company no longer operates in that sector but I still have plenty of contacts from when we did, so I made sure to get the contact details for exactly the right person, email and phone number, plus gave him my full knowledge of what to do, when to go there, everything.
No reply, nothing at all, not even to say thank you. Just rude.

People who start threads on news topics, such as....oooh, newly-crowned F1 champion announcing his retirement, without apparently thinking "I wonder of there might already be a thread on this (maybe even in the Formula 1 forum)", and then to compound things, spelling 'Rosberg' incorrectly.

There seems to be an increase in people (of all ages) coughing / sneezing etc into the air rather than into their hand at the present time.
I bet these are the same people who sit in the middle lane.
Sneezing into the hand serves to distribute your lurgy to every surface you touch. The crook of the elbow is the part of the body into which one ought to sneeze, if one doesn't have a gaily coloured/spotted handkerchief sticking out of one's tweed jacket's breast pocket which can be deployed to capture said phlegm.I bet these are the same people who sit in the middle lane.
