Didn't fancy a family argument spoiling the trip. Although for the return journey tomorrow I'm going to say I've got a headache so don't feel like driving. Yesterday I was told off for not wearing a hat and scarf when it was cold outside. I know he means we'll, but the way it's done is seriously aggrivating

People who clap in cinemas. I went to the electric cinema last night to watch Rogue One and every time something minor happened some moron at the front was clapping away frantically.. very odd.

Same as the people who clap when a flight lands - they think they're American.

Where do they get these game show contestants from? Saw "Pointless" yesterday, question was "name a country whose name ends in two consonants". One team consists of two university students, the first up "only did A-level geography so doesn't really know" and answers "Paris". Yes, not a country, not ending in two consonants. Is that really the standard of A-level students these days, or was she just particularly thick?

I saw that one too. The look on her partner's face when she gave the answer was priceless! To be fair, though, she did look very immature for a university age student, and it may just have been a "rabbit in the headlights" moment of nerves.

Either that, or she's just plain thick, and every penny my wife and I have spent supporting our sons through to university has been an absolute waste, based on the apparent intellectual standard of their peer group...

True, although her partner looked like she wanted to be anywhere else at all, from the start. I don't normally see the beginning of it, so maybe the first pair off are always like this.

Had something similar at the end of Rogue One, group of people gave a round of applause. I assumed maybe they were just a bit stupid! Still annoying and cringeworthy.

Don't go to a cinema in the US then!

MIB 2 was a full audience participation event (NC). Also saw Beowulf but that was a bit more subdued even though a full 3D IMAX showing (CA)

I took my kids to see Rogue One over Christmas. As the end credits rolled, I got out my phone to see if we needed to hang around for an after-credits scene. There isn't one, so I snapped the case shut. It sounded like a clap. Some people behind me began to clap. I was mortified.

Did you then have to open and shut your case really quickly to join in?

Traffic lights! Green ones in particular, especially the ones on my way to the office that are on a pedestrian crossing. They are so bright that you can't see if anyone is casually walking across the road, until you nearly run them over. They are brighter than main beam on a car but GREEN.

Also pedestrians crossing the road in front of you who do that little jog, you know the one, jog a little bit to get right in front of your car then just walk nonchalantly the rest of the way. Its as if they've thought I've ran therefore you must miss me.

Wow two days back and the commute is a grind already.

Thank you for the heads up! smile

I can recall going to see Blade at the cinema and there was a group of women that whooped and clapped every time Wesley Snipes did something cool/impressive.

Eventually someone just shouted, 'F**king shut up!' and after a few tuts they toned it down.

I don't get much time off work and am off work until monday as work is quiet at this time of year. Instead of riding my motorcycle, or going for a run, I am sat inside with a blocked nose, cough, blocked ears and wisdom teeth that have also decided to have a rumble and therefore feeling rather miserable. This annoys me beyond reason.

Youtube idiots.

See here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGRl6cPl_XE ...from 24 seconds to 46 seconds for an example.

Title? "Ship launch gone wrong"

Actual event portrayed? An apparently successful demonstration of the self-righting capability of a lifeboat or support vessel of some kind.

Note to Youtube moron: The crane was MEANT to roll the bloody boat upside down you cretin!

I usually include it in emails during the first week back at work (once to each recipient, obvs.)
