Now, we know you love the forums (as do we) but we know they're not perfect. This is why we've decided to streamline the various "skins" (these gave PHers the ability to modify the look of the forums to their taste) that were previously available on PistonHeads, meaning that only the "GTI" one will be offered going forwards.
(emphasis mine)
I have indeed missed the point, because that's news to me and I'm still using PH Classic and my preferences still gives a droplist of skins.

A couple of days ago it did change to GTI and I simply changed it back to PH Classic again, and I assumed that you had been similarly affected and did not know about skins in the Preferences.
Yes, it does offer you the choice right now but come next month it'll be a choice of GTI or GTI and GTI is st and annoys me beyond reason!

I tried it for an evening and I just cannot get on with it, I'm going to have to write a user style sheet in stylish if GTI is enforced on us.

fking Tesco moving everything around again, and why are they selling own brand kidney beans in the same packaging as kidney beans in chilli sauce? OK, I'm making chilli, but I decide what constitutes the chilli content - there is absolutely NO fkING NEED to sell kidney beans in chilli sauce.

That's entirely fair enough and I apologise for any confusion. It genuinely was news to me as I had not seen that thread and haven't seen any popups (because my browser is configured not to allow shenanigans like that. wink )

Oh, that will be annoying. It does just look as if I'm logged out now, and once I'm in a forum there seems to be no simple way to get back to my list of forums, without the old-style list in the top left corner. Once I'm in a thread I can, as there's a menu across the bottom of the page. Inconsistent, apart from anything else.

ETA - turns out that clicking "gassing station" in the top "breadcrumb" list takes me to the forum index, so that'll do.

The bloody screen layout on a forum I regularly visit has been changed with a god awful font and worst of all the link to "My Stuff" has moved relative position at the bottom of each page. So now my muscle memory means I keep moving the mouse to the wrong place.

There's no such thing as muscle memory, it's a misnomer. It's just a movement you've practised so much you no longer need think about it as your brain has developed specific neurons just for this motor skill.

Things that annoy me beyond all reason: Pedants who dissect a common saying or phrase to attempt to score points where everyone knows exactly what you mean.

Muscle memory has been used synonymously with motor learning, which is a form of procedural memory that involves consolidating a specific motor task into memory through repetition.

Perhaps PH is going backwards to counteract this? frown

Cambridge News, for its article on "Have you got what it takes to work for MI5?" Well, they clearly haven't, as they headed the piece with a photograph of the SIS building.

Likewise: Misuse of the phrase annoys me beyond reason.

I know it's an important topic for all Brits but 7 topics on 1st page of NPE on Brexit ,EU etc.

I'm sure 1 or 2 threads is sufficient.

No no, part of Brexit is surely that we want to break up the monopoly that is One Big Thread about Everything and have to go off on our own to discuss it separately...

Facebook clickbait.

It annoys me because I know what it's there for; I know it's potentially downloading viruses onto my computer that will empty my bank account (good luck there) and I know it's vapid, brain-deadening rubbish.

But I just can't help clicking on it.

I really don't care what Darlene off of "Roseanne" looks like now, even though "YOUR JAW WILL DROP!"
I'm really not that bothered why millionaires want this video banned.
I couldn't give a toss if single Mums in Leicester are earning £850 A DAY with this simple trick.

And yet, when faced with the challenge that "99% OF PEOPLE WON'T GET 100% IN THIS QUIZ" I am helpless to resist.

I need help.

Console yourself than in many of these tests, you always get 100% no matter what answers you provide, which then encourages you to share your score with others and rope them in too.

Just say "No", kids. smile
