I've just ordered the 330e in luxury trim, it saves me £250 a month on company car tax against a comparative diesel. It's a no brainier for company car drivers. Seemingly customers in the Netherlands have received theirs already. .... I'd love to see a review of the car but can't find one anywhere??

I think there are going to be quite a few of us with these because of how good the lease deals were for what will hopefully turn out to be a decent car!

my expected delivery is 28/04/2015.

I don't think any customers have one yet as the press seem to have driven only early prototypes.

And me, ordered an M Sport mid December and have an estimated delivery at the end of March. No adaptive suspension due to the size of the batteries unfortunately...

Hi, this dates are pretty good, I don't have a date yet.

Did you choose any options on the car? I'm just wondering if that means it takes longer?

Metallic paint, prof media, enhanced bluetooth, electric seats, advanced speakers adaptive cruise plus some interior stuff like folding rear seats. i had an initial date of early March but it got revised to the 28th. When you oreder throigh our company scheme you don't get a chance to have a conversation with the dealer to discuss these things...

Some guy in NL has posted a video of his dash whilst doing a 0-100k sprint but that's all I can find of any real world driving.

Thanks, very similar to my options so hopefully mine is delivered on a similar date. I've asked the guy on YouTube for a full car review, will let you know if I hear anything back from him.

The stated performance/economy is ridiculous. Seems these days you can both have your cake and eat it.

Of course, but the BIK savings are genuine and bankable and for me, anything more is a bonus. Since I ordered though the govt has announced a reduction on the grant available (from 5k to 2.5k) so i'm just waiting to hear if that affects my monthly cost.

Does anyone know the approximate cost of charging a 330e up?

With a 18ish mile round trip commute with the odd long journey to see customers this could suit me well as a personal lease.

I get an allowance and a ppm rate based on the government standard recommended figures. Does this come under the standard rate based on engine size?

This is why I sold my 335i in Jan this year and started saving up for a Tesla. Performance AND economy, surely that's the holy grail for an A to B daily drive.

Assuming 6kWh of usable battery, and 14p/kWh that's about 80p per charge.

7.6Kwh battery @ 14ppKwh = roughly £1 per full charge, and yes, a hybrid's HMRC mileage rate is based on the cc and fossil fuel of the other half of the powertrain.

Thanks for the replies, I was struggling to find the answer.

So using my best basic man maths and lots of assumptions - 100miles per week commuting on full electric, it would cost me £5 per week in electricity versus my current E93 325i petrol which costs me £21ish based on the 21mpg I see on the OBC.

I work from home a day or so a week, but do some other miles. So say that's 48 weeks a year, that's a saving of £768 a year in fuel? Not exactly a massive amount when I would be paying £300 a month amortised - until I work out the running costs of my E92 though, which may bring things closer. I would save £300ish in tax and I'm sure there are other things to consider?

It's the BIK saving for company car drivers which nails it, these PHEVs will banish diesels from company fleets.

I think you're right. I've looked at every EV and PHEV on the market from the point of view of a private owner, no commute and regular long journeys. Non of them make practical or economic sense, for me. Yet.

Agreed... although for me, it was the £250 / month that swung it. For a £35k car that seems vey good value. I'll save around £4k over 2 years on depreciation alone. The fact that it's a PHEV is an added bonus. It is cheaper to lease than my current m135i, not far off being as quick and significantly cheaper to run.

The fuel costs which are saved can still be claimed back at 45p a mile for business trips.

Will be interesting to see if the leases start getting more expensive over the next couple of months..

I have ordered one as a Company car with delivery due end of March
Its a 330e Sport in Tanzanite Blue, with Harmon Kardon stereo, Turbine Alloys, Individual Steering Wheel, Tinted Windows, Leathers and Comfort Pack.

The Car's list is just under £40k with all the options, and my annual cost works out at £1.2k per year including Tax. The same spec in diesel (only a 320d) would have set me back over £4k per year.

I have seen a few comments on other sites suggesting that the Diesel is a better choice (same for the Merc c350e), and I think this is correct if it is your own car. But for Company car drivers, especially higher rate payers, PHEVs are outstanding value..
With BIK rates increasing every year, and my company car schemes locking me in for 5 years, going the company car route would normally be a big liability. Getting hit with £1,000s in tax and losing out on allowance is a double whammy. Especially in years 4 and 5 when I am paying a higher BIK percentage on the original list price of a 4 year old car!

That's why normally I would run my own 4 or 5 year old vehicle and have a free choice , currently a Saab 9-5 Aero. It may not be as efficient as a new diesel but its cheaper to own and with bags of power and torque way more fun on the 80 mile commute.
However, at 5% BIK(even increasing in later years) the 330E is financially too tempting. Not only that but I can waft around town at the weekend with instant torque, while during the week I have a refined, powerful and free revving petrol.

I think we will start to see a lot more of these vehicles (Volvo S90, C350E, Passat GTE) next year as higher rate Company Car drivers realise they can get a lot of car for a fraction of the cost of the equivalent diesel on their P11D.
