Even if YOU haven't expressly wished for the death of someone, others will (and already have). These types of threads always bring out a rather deep and disturbing undercurrent in some people - a side of people I would prefer not to encounter ANYWHERE on PH.

Hmmm - is this what Pistonheads should be for - wishing for the death of people?

I don't think so.

The one thing I would like to see die is this thread.
Who said anything about wishing for people to die? It's a speculative guess with some humour, albeit rather dark humour, thrown in. As has been said before, don't like it? Don't read it.
You did.

Lewis Hamilton please but more realistically, Dick Van Dyke must be getting on a bit now!?
You dick.

Blimey, rather dim aren't we this morning. If you haven't figured out the idea of this thread yet I'll quickly explain.

You guess what celebrity might, I repeat, might die this year. Also if one wishes to one can, purely for comedy effect, chuck a name out there that is rather unlikely to die. Get it? It's funny, dark but funny. Someone mentioned Justin Beiber earlier and someone may mention Tony Blair or other wastes of oxygen later.

Do I wish Hamilton was dead? No. Do I wish he would fk of out of the public eye, dissapear from F1 and never be seen again, yes please.

Merry Christmas!

Great tactic, in which case I'll say Mr. T and Burt Reynolds

He's clearly not being serious, that is the "humour" part to the thread rolleyes Jokingly wishing death on someone is extraordinarily different to wishing death on someone, don't pretend that you can't see the distinction.

It's only a bit of fun Eric, I don't think anybody is really wishing anybody dead.

Yep - listing those you would like to see die in the next twelve months is a total hoot. Shame on me for not falling about the place laughing at such a well developed and sophisticated sense of humour.

I'm obviously in need of a humour injection.

I don't think that people WANT these people to die. It's a guess that that person might die.

I don't WANT George Bush to die but I make a guess that he might.

At least one person has already expressed a wish for a particular individual to die. Even as a joke it is crass and childish.

This particular topic is posted EVERY year on PH - and eventually at some point a mod will close it down. I await developments.

It's just not funny, therefore it isn't a joke. You might think that you were being funny, but you weren't. You were just being a bit of an unfunny c**t.

A statement can be intended to be funny and therefore be a joke. Whether it is then funny or not is irrelevant to its status as a joke.

Oh good. Calling us a girls name because we think its bad taste. Thats a bit...um... childish maybe? Or is it meant to shut us up.

Look. It may be humour to some. But not to normal people it is distasteful. Not just at christmas, but anytime. The sense of glee taken when "your" celebrity dies. The sense of "yes! I win..".and the hope that someone dies just because you dont like that person. Its just...not nice. And Unnecessary.

And, for heavenes sake, why be nasty?

It's OK - it's the internet. We're not talking about REAL people, are we? I mean, when we don't really know someone, isn't it OK to hope for them to die? After all, it doesn't matter, does it?
Who can we hurt or upset?

What?

These are REAL people?

You're kidding me.

Well I never - I always that they were just pixels on a TV or computer screen and not real, genuine, flesh and blood human beings.

You live and learn.

Every one of the words I used in that post can be found in any English dictionary and there were no grammatical errors so I fail to see what more I could do.

Are there any other languages I could try?

Sorry, the word "mither" is not one I am familiar with. It must be a colloquial expression.
