Prince. Yes. If you have a few minutes, have a butchers at this and play the video. He comes into his own about half way through:

My original bet seems to have become healthier than this time last year. And he's in his 90s.

I'd have thought George Bush was a much more likely bet than Prince

Another sad loss.

Reading Percy Sledge's obituary on the BBC's site I was surprised to find this:

BBC said:
Music producer David Gest was among those paying tribute to the singer.
"I am so saddened by the death of my good friend Percy Sledge. I was fortunate enough to have him perform on three of my legends of soul tours and he was absolutely amazing to watch, be it singing When A Man Loves A Woman or Dark End Of The Street," Gest told BBC News.
"Percy was one of the great performers and a man that knew the true meaning of the word 'soul'. Sleep well my friend."
I know the obits are written well in advance but really!

You know I think I did but I'd forgotten. Mrs Underwhelmist told me he'd died when I came in from my bike ride, she'd read it on Facebook. There, blame my Mrs and FB. Not me. I'm not that daft. Oh no.

Percy Sledge's death is the "Most Read" on bbc.co.uk

His security supporting him as he leans back and then pushing him back on stage is priceless! What a legend, we've had only his music on all day here.

He'll be given a job in a different parish, rather than getting fired.
