Thank you so much for posting that. Earlier than the date of that video in 2011, (February/March) I was working in a very tense and fractious arbitration at a venue in Fleet Street for two weeks, staying in a nearby hotel, away from home and family.

On two or three afternoons we adjourned early afternoon and I had time to kill, and I chanced upon St. Brides and popped in. I am not a religious man, but it is truly a wonderful, peaceful haven, in complete contrast to the City hustle and bustle only yards from its door, and I would sit in complete silence for about an hour, very much at peace. It is a beautiful place.

That song has been my favourite Christmas song since it was released (I was ten) so I really am happy to have seen it performed brilliantly in a place I find very special

Very sad that AA Gill went so fast, RIP. A brilliant writer on many topics and by far my favourite along with JC in the Sunday Times.
