Internet back up here in the Deep South. So I can continue using the pinnacle of human technological achievement to post utterly inconsequential rubbish. Winning

Just been checking travel arrangements up to Heathrow (I'm on the south coast). Gatwick is never an issue as there's a direct train, but Heathrow is a PITA.

Car parks - expensive for ten days and means potential bodywork dings and more importantly no booze on the plane back. Taxi/private hire - doable but not the cheapest.
Back to the trains. The train website wants me to travel up to Woking then get on a bus! A bus? Unclean /shudder/.

So I did a bit of a rethink and will train it up to Victoria, then Tube over to Heathrow. This will mean a slightly longer journey time, but no biggie. The best bit is that I've just pre-booked the fare and grabbed a train ticket for £5. Five quid! The tube fare to Heathrow using my Oyster card is £3.10, so I can do the whole journey for well under a tenner!
Quite pleased about that.

Better tube than Heathrow Express. It's like stepping back in time

I have changed my text tone from:

Jawa: Utinni!

to

Team America: Matt Damon.

It's been a slow day here at Roper corp.

Inspired by the release of The Force Awakens at Christmas I changed mine to a Yoda voice saying "Message from the Dark Side there is" - I used it years ago for ages and was surprised to find it was still kicking about having survived several phone changes. I realise that as an alleged grown up who has a job and a mortgage and other such things that I'm probably too old for it now.. but darn it, it still makes me chuckle! hehe

I had that one too for a while, I wonder if I can find it again.

I have an 03:35 shift tomorrow. It's allegedly an early turn but I reckon it's more like a stealth night irked

I've long thought James May is one of few telly people you could imagine going to a pub with and not wanting the roof to fall on them before the end of the first drink. Hammond is kinda the opposite...

I'm contemplating going to the Italian Moto GP ,at Mugello ,cos it's on the same time as the Mille Miglia.

I've been to the Misano Moto GP and enjoyed it and the Mugello race is supposed to be a bit nuts.

The ELMS is on one week too early at Imola.....irked

Tailgating size role reversal today. Back in the RR, a Mini driver in a desperate hurry was right up my exhaust in a 40 zone, and undercut me at a roundabout with multiple lanes to get past before turning off not 500 yards later. le sigh...

ION, our team won the first round of the BUKC today with some on-fire driving at Buckmore Park. I was sadly stuck at uni manning out stand at a fresher's fair rather than racing with them, but I had a live results timing feed screen on display to proudly point out our performance to the punters smile

Gnurgh...

Good morning. I'd love to think of something urbane and witty to say but to be honest it's using all my available brain power just sitting up and moving my fingers. 02:41. That's not a time, it's a punishment
