Because I passed my driving test back when the world was black and white I am entitled to drive 7.5 tonne lorries and lorries with trailers up to 12 tonnes. The world is my 7.5 tonne oyster. Just searched on '7.5 tonne driving jobs Berkshire.'

It is better to travel hopefully than to arrive, as someone once said.

The job was crap but didn't have a 10 in the title. I may have to revisit my earlier pronouncement about 10.

I've had occasion to wonder what it would have been like driving one of those turn-of-da-centry steam powered trucks. A two man job of stoker/fireman and driver. Imagine, being in a cab all day and having to talk to your co-worker. </shudder>

Oi! Dont make us start out own Merkel/Hollande approved version of TT! We'll do it! and we'll invite the greeks as well, despite saying they had to stop using more mobile data then they have in their plan.

DC .....you might need CPC qualifications to drive a 7.5t.

I would ask my manager but for various reasons I won't and chances are he'd give an incorrect answer anyway even if we were on speaking terms.

Qualifications? I don't do qualifications on account of I never done no book learning.

It's okay, I've moved on to investigating specialist cleaning jobs. I quite like non-routine cleaning. You know, the sort of cleaning where stuff has life breathed back into it.

Just watching Muse headlining at Glastonbury, is there a finer live band? I was lucky to see Pink Floyd on their final tour (Pulse) but these guys are something else.

I managed to kill the auto-update to 10 and now I have a spare HDD winging its way over to me. I can mirror my whole computer onto it, then install 10, and if 10 is AWFUL I can retain the license for it, revert back to 7, and then if 10 is ever not awful I have got the free license left over smile

And I can then use the spare HDD for routine backups. Really should do that more.

(I also have a not-strictly-necessary) SSD winging its way to me on a slightly slower schedule... to aid booting.

I think you've forgotten to divide by the number you first thought of.

I watched it live last night.

There's something about them that makes me go "meh".

But "Time is running out" is an ace track played LOUD.

I thought ZZtop were brilliant too.

I lasted about two hours before calling it a day. Too wet, too squelchy and too busy. Too may marshals being self important which started almost a mile before I'd even got there.

To cap it all, the electronic handbrake on the RRS decided to expire in an expensive sounding screechy/graunchy/crunchy noise as I parked in the field. Just ordered the new mech - one million pounds! MOT is on Thursday. irkedfrown

Morning. Considering it's supposedly summer, today's critical attire question should be 'what hat do I wear to keep the sun from burning my head day?' Instead it's 'which hat keeps me warm on my morning walk whilst keeping the monsoon showers from drenching me utterly?'

English EU summers: overated.

Presumably when we exit the EU, we'll be able to have proper English summers, with gurning buxom wenches delivering us cider and ploughmans served at noon as we sythe the crop from the fields in our once-a-year washed smocks.
I'd vote for that, as long as we don't have to have 19th century health care to go with it. I'm good with a scythe, I can reap with the best of them.

I think all revenue earning >3.5t stuff needs a CPC card now, although it's really just a death-by-powerpoint-pass-by-attendance-cash-cow-for-training-providers bit of nonsense.
