Tell us something really trivial about your life (Vol 27)
Discussion
Last weekend I finally tracked down the cause of a wet wood whiff in the bathroom. The flush pipe on the toilet had a miniscule leak and probably has had since it was installed by a Wisenheimer plumber twelve years ago. I pulled it all out, put in a new flush pipe and put it back together and introduced a new leak at the other end of the pipe which took a day or two to discover. During the week I pulled it all out again, put a second new flush pipe in and put it all back together again and managed to make a small leak in the soil pipe. At this point Flanders and Swann arrived to chronicle events. Let me just add that because it is all slimline, each leak fix attempt involved major dismantlement of the bathroom cupboards. Last evening I stood up from another spell of arms' length exertions, hit my head on the bathroom shelf, that end of the shelf detached itself from the wall and deposited the contents of the shelf into the cistern. I was a bit cross. Mrs C came up to see what the commotion was all about just as I emptied the water out of the tooth brush mug into the basin forgetting I had taken off the U-bend.
Luckily, she laughed.
Sorted now. If it's okay, I'll take the rest of the day off.

Got the OK from the Ex to sell some of her stuff still around here, including the box-bike. Will be glad to see the thing go, as its a bit of an eye sore sitting in front of the house, and itll make it easier to park in the small front yard.
She needs some cash quick for the rent etc.. And considering its kind of my kids' rent as well, i figure helping out a bit with the logistics whilst cleaning my place out at the same time is a good idea.

Couldn't be arffed to go back to FOS, so spent the day underneath the RRS stripping out the expired handbrake module. That is quite possibly one of the worst jobs I've ever had to do on a Land Rover. Didn't help that everything was seized, encased in mud or just brittle. Both the grinder and the gas torch had some exercise today.
Finally it's all out and sitting on the garage floor, the new one arrives at some point on Tuesday so hopefully shouldn't be too much of a faff to reassemble.
I am now a completely different colour - including the red bit on the bridge of my nose where I dropped a 3/8 ratchet on my face. Pig Pen (Peanuts) is but an amateur. My garage clothes are having a boil wash - I'm just about to do the same thing to my achy bits in the shower.
