As if the still dismantled Meteor engine wasn't enough of "useless man toy", I've now been offered second refusal on the cockpit section (i.e. front 10 feet) of a Sea King helicopter when the current owner finishes renovating it for sale next year. I'm seriously considering it too.....

I think I need an intervention....
Au contraire, i think you need more useless man toys

Which reminds me, now that im rid of the ex, there is nothing stopping me from getting one of those fancy engine block coffee tables, aside from them being rather impractically heavy. Bloke in the dutch alfa scene did one with a fully built up 1.7 16v boxer lump (heads, belts and all), dont know how i would get something like that up the stairs to the living room..

Ill be keeping my eyes peeled for cheap alfa V6 engines. (and resist the temptation to swap said lump into the 147 hehe)

F1? Didn't see it. Might catch up later.
Now that ive gotten rid of the extra channel pack which contained RTL i literally have no options what so ever to watch F1... and i dont really give a toss anymore, merc is running away with it again..

Stuff from my rally trip.

Got my Swedish hat signed by a Stig Blomqvist....the grey squiggle on the left.

The official video maker woman interviewed him in English, their common language.

Did any of the other chaps get out?

I'm not sure they know about The Towers and the sanctuary of The Secret Cupboard. Or the confused welcome that awaits them here courtesy of Battert and Mrs B.

They could sleep in the Small Barn until we recover the camp beds from the attic.

I'll go and oversee the making of some soup.

It's not half past ten, the corner shop in the village will still be open. Take the old grocer's bike and get some bread and milk. And tea. Ride along the tow path.

Morning, S. We're wondering if we are about to give refuge to the dispossessed from the Banter thread. So far, only one as turned up. It's all a mystery.

Morning chaps, I've made it over OK. Anyone know for sure what happened? I heard that a frenzied mod had hidden the Banter thread in a hangar at Luton airport, but then rumours will be rife for a while I guess.

Boo.

Back at work.......and this happens.

Driven 1 mile from the yard.

In front is a 7.5t,with rear shutter open, not supposed to drive with it open.

Pulls away,2 large boxes fall out, stacked across the lorry ,so bound to fall out.

Me.....hoot hoot ......he stops 50 yards up the road for the lights.

Gets out, looks at boxes ,point to himself in a "are they mine ?" way.

Comes back to pick them up.

I was about to get out to drag them to the pavement.

Well done TNT......rolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyesrolleyes

Don't know. A mysterious mystery of a mysterious nature, I reckon. I sent a non-coded PM to V6 but so far have had no response.

I've sent a note to PH regarding the disappearance of the General Banter topic. So far we have:

1. There was zero swearing
2. There was zero racism
3. No Mod came on to say there were issues
4. There were no email warnings
5. It was all just good natured surreal humour that we all enjoyed contributing to.

So, on this this thread, can the mods please explain why General Banter (retry) has been removed??

Seconded. An explanation, or a reason would at least be courteous?

I suspect that the General Banter thread has been stolen by the BBC, who will soon rework it into an early evening comedy/drama to compete with Midsomer Murders
