When I left the supermarket earlier, bloke walking to his car in flip flops and shorts.

It's winter and the thermometer is reading low.

"Look at me,all inappropriately dressed"

It was a Mondeo.

I shall say this only once. Trifle sponges, TWO large punnets of raspberries, one pack decent raspberry jelly and a pack of good readymade custard.

Use one punnet of raspberries to make a coulis and use it to make the jelly. Then it's a layer of sponge fingers, a layer of raspberries (the other punnet), layer of sponge fingers, pour on jelly mix. When set, pour on custard. Resist the temptation to embellish the trifle.

The reason I use ready made custard is that it doesn't skin like it will if you make Bird's. Much as I like Bird's, it skins. There's no getting away from it. Skin has its place and that place is not on trifle.
I made Birds custard for our christmas trifles, it was fine, no appreciable amount of skin.
I hate to suggest operator error but...

That's the best we can come up with for The Trivial Towers Challenge 2016?

Make Bird's Custard with little or no skin?

I'm in.

Did I mention the dream I had? In the dream I thought the idea was hilarious and how it took off immediately and became an internet sensation. The idea was to construct representations of famous landmarks using materials with names similar to the landmarks they depicted. The only one I could remember when I woke up was Garibaldihenge.

In the dream I was falling about laughing. I don't know why.

Clearly shortbread fingers would make far better materials for Stonehenge but they sound even less like Stonehenge than Garibaldi.

To prevent Bird's custard from skinning, sprinkle a fine covering of sugar over the surface and then lay clingfilm gently on top.

Awesome, that tip came courtesy of my Mum; one of only two things she ever successfully taught me how to cook. And I'm not sure Pot Noodles count. Awww, bless me ole mum getting into TT

Custard, thick, very thick, with added puree mango and peach and a dash of sugar and vanilla... Stir till cold.

Puff pastry, cooked in rectangles about 5x8cm. Scrape the crusts off into a bowl and add sugar and cinnamon.

When the custard is cold, spoon bbetween sheets of pastry. Sprinkle with the tops sprinkled with cinnamon.

These are awesome.e pastries..in farsi called Noon Napolonie. Moorish, so bloody Moorish.

</love custard>

I'm a bit sceptical about recent content of this thread. I call custard.

That's a big brake pedal, wonder how they fit the clutch pedal in?

Impostor knob as Impasse said or maybe one of those 'manual' 'boxes that has an automated clutch when you move the gear stick?
