Well

Scored two sets of speakers and an amp for the measly sum of €18, BUT. The amp seems shot, the power light comes on, but i havent been able to make it produce any output.

And on the speaker side, i managed to procure a set of Jamos, BUT the foam surrounds on the woofers are all gone, and im not sure im up for replacing those (and the replacement part would cost more then the speakers did..), and of the other set, one has quite some water damage to the particle board box.

And i havent tested any of em, considering the amp is most likely dead...

Not quite how i envisioned a kingsday audio score to end up, im most peeved about the Jamo speakers, as they are supposed to be quite good, but currently are not in a usable state.

Yeah.... Honestly i enjoyed the hunt, but coming away with essentially nothing really useful kinda sucks, knowing me i'd screw up refoaming the jamos ruining the sound, and repairing an amp is also beyond my capabilities, unless it is a simple blown fuse (which a first inspection did not suggest)

Which leaves me with one set of speakers which *might* be still working, but i'd have to get a proper amp to test them

One side of me is pissed off because i didnt achieve what i set out to, the other side is like "fk it, ive got enough on my plate without starting a restoration project for this crap" and wants to just bin the lot and chalk it up to a lesson learned

How often do they need replacing, and how many does it take?

Alfa TS plugs arent cheap, and it needs 8, but at least they last 36K/60K

Four. And every other week frown

Just had to replace them in the FB, as well. Trouble is, the FD's just stted up its plugs so I can't get it to start so I can't diagnose why it barfed a huge gobful of oil out at Silverstone on Sunday irked She's been due a bit of love and TLC, I think this is her way of making sure she gets it!

Chewing through a set of plugs per meeting seems a bit profligate; is this normal for competitive wankelling?

We managed to get two sets of Lego... one much cheaper than the other. Not bad for a cold Wednesday in April.
