If you feel that bad perhaps work will eventually take your mind off other things, better than sitting at home alone.

Today, I feel your pain - I've been in a good place since seeing the girl I'm now seeing (in hindsight, the others were doomed to failure and now I'm genuinely happy), but this morning I woke up in a bad mood, my 0830 meeting was cancelled as I was walking to catch an early train to be in the office for it, I tripped up the stairs at the station and I'm shattered.

I will be caffeine fuelled today...

Theoretically yes, but ive got one hell of a cross eyed headache, and it takes actual conscious effort to focus my eyes on anything, never mind directing my brain to do anything useful, my head feels full of cotton.

Ahem; partial disclosure!

A bacon sandwich with an Ibuprofen chaser.

Already have two paracetamol down the gullet, lets see if that helps

Ive got a nice beef-burger waiting for me at home for dinner, just a matter of surviving another 6 hours of work...

I really hope you haven't/don't plan to drive like that...

You need something a bit stronger than Ibuprofen. Go and have a chat in the Pharmacy and see what they will give you.

Also, EAT something now, you need to get your blood sugar up (it will help your brain feel less like cotton wool) and drink lots of room temperature water.

No, i take public transport to work, if i'd had to take the car i wouldve stayed in bed this morning.

It is this weird combo of my body not wanting and my mind just wanting to switch off, im guessing im kinda depressed. Not sure if i should just go home sick or force myself through the next day and a half... Im sure i wont get any work done either way.

thumbup Pleased you're sensible about it - you'd not believe how many drive like that, then say "I'm amazed I didn't have an accident"...

Depression likes to be fed. It creates apathy and then feeds off it creating more. It is a vicious circle. It hates routine. It will fight you trying to stick to routines as it knows that they will help you. It is a sneaky nasty evil bugger that will try and trick you into not sticking into routine because you 'can't be bothered'; 'don't feel well enough' or 'just can't do this today'. Yes, it will succeed in this some days, but that is nothing to be ashamed about. Count the days you beat it, not the days you don't.

Thanks Kat!

And yeah, ive been on (mild) meds for nearly a year and a half now, following a particularly heavy breakdown at work (also helped by the home situation), and the last 12 months have been heavy as well. And honestly ive been doing better the last half year, but the whole breakup etc.. still is a heavy thing to process, even if i stand by the decision, and know it is the right thing. There is just a bit of darkness to work through before it all gets lighter.

i know i dont have it that bad, both in terms of the depression and life in general, ive just been in a slump the last few days, and today feels like a bad one.
