So, that demolition work I was talking about....
It turns out that there was in fact no vibration or danger to the fabric of the building after all.
When the contractors brought in the heavy munching robot over the weekend, they were surprised to find that the were in fact simply breeze blocks with plaster and that the robot simply went though them like rice paper. This was despite their multiple assertions in the planning stages of the work that these walls were in fact thick, reinforced concrete and thus required the massive disruption and risk of heavy machinery - when in fact they could have been taken down by one man and sledgehammer with no disturbance at all to the upstairs labs.
We therefore have spent tens of thousands of pounds in man-hours and service costs, moving the out-of-hours production support scientists and their equipment to another building (requiring extensive requalification of all the sensitive measuring stuff before it can be used again, in about half the time such work would usually take) all for nothing. All this stuff now has to be moved back to its proper lab in this building.
If I was in charge here, heads would be rolling round about now.

Bunch of idiots should have just taken a basic drill to the wall first, that would've told em right away It turns out that there was in fact no vibration or danger to the fabric of the building after all.

I'm back home now. I had a lovely weekend, thanks for asking. Daughter is here as she's off to Italy tomorrow for a dance competition thingy and needs a lift to the meeting point where the bus is going to whisk them all to Gatwick.
Apparently we're having Nandos for dinner. Could be worse, she could be insisting I cook.

I put a bet on football. I know nothing about football but the guys I was with said it’s a good bet. Have I just lost £5?
21-1 Jamie Vardy - He must score 3 times in the first 3 matches (once the tournament starts)
Depends if Roy plays him in his favoured forward role or out on the wings. Also depends how many chances on goal he gets without deciding to dive and win a penalty, which Kane will probably take.21-1 Jamie Vardy - He must score 3 times in the first 3 matches (once the tournament starts)
Not a bad bet though.

Good old Dad, completely misunderstood the travel arrangements for daughter. Apparently ten of them are going in a mini-bus tomorrow (daughter included) and the remainder are flying in a day later. So she's actually driving (being driven) down to Brixen in Italy with a night's stopover in Stuttgart on the way. Glad I keep myself informed of these things...
ION, downstairs in the underground car park is 645 BMW. Nothing too unusual there except this one is on and has been for over an hour. It's just sitting there in its parking spot, engine running, headlights on, doors locked with no one in it or nearby. (No extra hosepipe from the exhaust though) I'm assuming they are keyless go?
We rang the corresponding doorbell/intercom for the parking spot's flat to alert the owner but no answer. I guess it will run out fuel at some point tonight/tomorrow/Thursday.

One of the second hand car emporiums I deal with has a Zenos at the moment. Never heard of it. 'Ah ha!' I thought, 'Now there's a cheap and cheerful way into high performance.
Idiot.
There are three for sale currently on PistonHeads ranging from £28,000 to £47,000.
In my defence, the one I saw wasn't displaying a price. Not much in the way of doors or weather equipment either.
