I've heard a rumour that the word 'Pelican' was used on the front page of yesterday's Daily Mail. Is anyone able to confirm if this is correct?

Hey Nik, take a look at my rally pics thread where you might see a REX.

Awesome thread!

That Rex is lovely, bet it made a mad amount of noise! I got to poke about in the Spa-winning TWR RX-7 at Goodwood t'other year and I was amazed how similar it was to mine... the rules meant they even had to run with interior and everything so it still had the dash in, just with holes bashed through it for extra fuseboxes and fire suppression. Good ol' Tom, he always flew close to the edge of the rulebook; the guy was saying how the roll-cage wasn't allowed to be tied into the structure of the car so once scrutineering was over with Walkinshaw just self-tappered it to the shell all along the pillars to stiffen the car hehe

But under the bonnet it was the same as mine; 12A ported out and a massive Weber nailed on top. I wonder if theirs was a pig to start on cold mornings, too

It was loud but not quite as raucous as I expected.

I've seen and heard Rotary Mazdas race and rally before and some were ear bleedingly loud.

I think the loudest car last weekend was the Porsche 953, sounded weird.

Although that isn't a competitive event ,most drivers are out to enjoy the cars and entertain the crowd and

if the opportunity arose due to them getting 3 laps of the Bosch Super stage a little chasing and overtaking

livened things up.

More marvellous by the minute. I've just been to the tip and tried to pull a new black and decker workmate out of the skip. Got it into the car and got nabbed.
Dont know why I bother, what with the lottery win and finding the original Bible in my loft I could buy the company. In fact I think I will. Then make a torture device for uptight recycling operatives.

I've got hold of a copy now, it is related to the plastic bag issue. Apparently the weight of bags saved during the last year is 'equivalent to the weight of roughly 300 blue whales, 300,000 sea turtles or three million pelicans'

Seriously guys, that's what it says !!

Due to my hoarding of bags,I haven't had to buy any new bags.

I also use one bag inside another which keeps both in 're usable condition.

Whilst I've seen them used as burger buns smile I'm yet to see one used as a bagel with pulled pork; just saying.

So your hoarding comprises two bags?

I hoard testicles. And ex wives.

You know those free polythene bags they supply in the fruit and veg isles in supermarkets? I just tear a chunk off the dispenser and accidentally drop them in my trolley. They're great for wrapping up waste food at home before chucking in the bin.
