T2? T5? What happened to the T34?

I think we need to re-group Ladies & Gentlemen, and consider our options:

There's a large pile of junk behind the Rectory.

Iva's giving berth to to Heathrow Hannah, can only assume he's offering her a room at the Arc Light Inn?

And V6 has pulled? May I say chap, should make an interesting friday night alternative to lifting?

So what next? Sit tight with one eye on the door, or deploy The Tactical Pelican Unit?

I'm terribly sorry there's been a misunderstanding. I pulled my back.

I twisted to get away as he grabbed me. The garlic and absinthe breath was overpowering and if it wasn't for the faint smell of Old Spice under a rancid stench of BO I would have thought he was one of those 'model making forum' johnnies but I think he must be from here.
So by the process of elimination, is anyone not on here tonight?

When I lived in the family home the old bloke almost opposite bought a white one new.

He had a Lancia Fulvia before that iirc.

It must have been English then, it fits. I should have known, the absinthe was a giveaway.

In the world of dodgy old cars that I now find myself in, there comes a point in a car's life where dealers say enough is enough and call the scrap man. Storing borderline cars either for repair or scrapping is a constant headache for dealers and my guvnor rents space at a local farm. During the week I was sent to the farm to do an inventory of the cars destined for car heaven or late reprieve. I hadn't been before. Picture your correspondent poking about among old cars. Heaven indeed. Among the waifs and strays was a 1990 Renault 5. It didn't look scrap to me but I could see it was nowhere near the quick turnaround car the business considers ideal. When I asked, he said I could have it for what he gave as trade in, £50. My opposite number had driven it there and said it drove well and started easily. Other than faded paintwork, a broken fuel filler flap, a chunk out of the front bumper and a missing radio it is complete and sound. What really interested me is that it almost entirely rust free. Someone, I thought, is going to want this.

Er, well, yes, I am now the interim owner of a red 1990, 4 door, Renault 5 in 'Famous Five' trim.

smile

And so another adventure begins.

Pics to follow.

Excellent stuff re the Renault Dicky. Those old 90's cars are really becoming collectable & worth good money now. Can't go wrong with that one chap.

Project Fence has been suspended due to the weather. The count still remains at 3 loose posts + 1 slightly loose.

Need to get up in the loft to sort some junk out. Think I'll have a drop of Absinthe first. Anyone else? drink

Marvellous car. I took a 1987 one as payment for a year parking it in 2013. Lovely condition and a great dark pastel green colour. Sold immediately for £450 I wish I'd kept it but don't know much about foreign classics. This rocks my boat though just wish I had space left. Oh and £45k

I think I started a thread once about if, in addition to an ordinary everyday car, you could only have one interesting car for the rest of your natural, what would it be? Despite never owning a TVR I went for a sixties Tuscan or a Vixen if a Tuscan was too much. It has almost everything I need from an interesting car.

The thread got nowhere.

Well I seemed to have followed your direction and never saw the thread.

Not too sure if that's good or bad.

Step Daughter #1 is bouncing off The Towers en route to her birthday holiday in New York. She's left me her Cayman for the week so I've made a cake.

I was going to make a cake for her birthday anyway but we won't tell her that, will we?

Just seen a Carribean bloke going through airport security a few people in a front of me, who proceeded to take a pair of inch-thick wads of used twenties out of his pockets before going through the scanner.
Not suspicious at all...
