Married woman saga episode 5923

MW thought she'd invite me over for an evening of board games (no ulterior motive, her husband would be there as well)

Now she managed to pick the one night where i had already arranged for the girl i went on a date with two weeks back (which happened to coincide with MW having a HUGE fight with her husband, and her being pissed off because i wouldnt interrupt my date to comfort her), to come to my place for dinner.

And now she is making snarky remarks over text...

Not that i had any illusions left on this particular one, but i do think the whole "this isnt working out, lets just be friends" thing doesnt really work...
Well first off chap, have you got rid of that bug that you had? Neither of them will want you coughing & wheezing all over the shop...

Nope, still under the weather im affraid, although it is mostly asthma/sore throat at this point, im seriously considering going into work tomorrow, it wouldnt be the smartest thing to do with a weekend of loads of DIY stuff to look forward to, but there is an important project meeting i really dont want to skip...

Either way, MW is done as far as im concerned, im not interested in the slightest, and while i am sorry for having hurt her feelings, there is no sense is pussyfooting around.

The new date, i honestly am not really interested in any romantic kind of thing, but we get along nicely on the chat, and i promised to make her pizza (about the only cooking i do well), ill be sure to be more direct with her regarding any potential interest i might have. The annoying thing is i think she does like me (this is going to sound very powerful built PH director, but bare with me), i was rather charming for my own standards on the previous date, and she has been taking initiative in keeping in touch..

Good decision there re MW I think.

Sounds like New Date's a nice friend to have, cook her a pizza & see how it goes chap. If you want to go along the PH Powerfully built Director route, you could always cop off with one of her mates!

Cheers mate

Do look forward to the pizza thing, she is a massive italy fan, and just spent her holiday there, she'd promised to bring an authentic italian salami in exchange for the handmade pizza!

Same here Iva,

Upside to being home sick, i can sit around in my underpants, downside to being home sick, no aircon, so my back keeps sticking to the chair from the inevitable sweat.

Penrose is back... at last!

He was just getting into the van over at Ugley when Mrs Brassington's chauffeur came out of the Co-Op with a bag of Werther's... Christ, I can still hear the screaming now.

Anyhow, he's safely ensconced in the paddock with the llama (Penrose, that is, not the chauffeur - that poor bugger was whisked off to A&E).

Hopefully, the good people of Ugley can rest peacefully tonight.

I believe it was Ugley Upon Wrasse many years ago, but since the fishmonger's closed it's been known as just plain Ugley.

in a Caterfield type car.

Part 2 tomorrow.

Road route described as the best in Britain, starts in Inverness and goes to other places.

But not Ugley.

Has been a touch warm today. I spent the afternoon watching the tide come in at Bosham in the company of a rather lovely girlywomanlady type. I was glowing somewhat but it wasn't really the time to roll my trousers up and go for a paddle.

Jeremy Vine and I do not get on. When his programme comes on, rather than retune, I turn the radio off. Today during that period I was in the sticks, soon to discover waney edged disc brakes. So, to pass the time, I wrote a topical ditty. Or at any rate started it. Perhaps you could add a verse or two. It's about the summer holidays and what to do with kids.

Entertain the kids?
I'll lend a hand
Paint them with syrup
And roll them in sand

Find a big box
And send them to France
Light the hot coals
And teach them to dance

Iva has a roads story.

I'm going to assume that these little used Highlands roads are in a better condition than down sarf.

Yesterday the same thing happened to my not much more than 1 year old lorry that happened to the last one.

The pole that run the length of the load area to hang straps from to tie down a load.

Well ,for the second time the weld had been weakened due to vibration and maybe poor welding and one of the bars

snapped off and fell down.

As we don't use them due to the nature of what we carry ,I just unbolted the other end and removed the entire

half of pole.

Interesting....

I suspect Beetle based ,not sure.

Anyhoo the body was not exactly a lookalike ,more of an angular mess vaguely Lamborghini shaped .if your specsavers appointment was cancelled.

I used to be well into kit cars ,always wanted to build one ,never did.

The speed of my truck is limited and I am overtaken by all sorts of things. Yesterday a big old van pulling a trailer with what I later learned was a Legends Racing '37 Ford Sedan went past. Luckily, they were in Warwick Services when I pulled in.

The cars are mechanically pretty much identical with a choice of engine I didn't understand. It was something like, 1200 modifiable or 1250 sealed. This is the Yamaha 1250cc engine. Very friendly family team off to Scotland for a weekend of racing. The stuff that goes on that I know nothing about is amazing. Marvellous.

I'd have wanted a bigger steering wheel.
