People on here who don't have cars in their profile and people who have suspiciously 'PH' garages but no photos of said cars.

It's a car forum ffs.

They're out in force in the scratched M4 thread trolling away.

Just reinforces the notion that they're pure fantasists.

Another one: people who only ever post on non-car related threads. Why are you here?

People whose first reaction to a post they disagree with is to rush off and check the poster's profile/garage, as if the car they own makes their opinion any more or less valid...

It certainly gives it context, especially when they've said something highly subjective.

Quite right. People who don't have their garage populated should be taken outside and flogged with a stty stick. The peasants.

Fair enough, that's your opinion, even if I disagree I can respect that.

In my experience, some of the most nonsensical, utterly wrong opinions or 'advice' I've seen has been offered on the marque forums by owners of said vehicles.

I don't put my car in my profile because I don't want to provoke jealousy or laughter. Also I want my posts to stand on their own merit (if they have any) rather than to be subject to a "he's got (or says he has) a ***** ****** therefore he must be a tt either for owning one or saying he owns one when he doesn't" type filter.

Exactly. As far as I'm concerned, no car photos in profile = post and opinions ignored irregardless of whether I agree with it or not.

I generally try to enjoy the forums and move on when there's something that could be irritating. The one thing that does annoy me a bit is when people start arguing about what should and shouldn't be posted in certain threads. Just enjoy the website and if you don't particularly like a post, or think it's a bit off topic, move on and ignore it rather than making a big fuss.

"Yawn"

"Not this again"

etc.

I'm with you on that.

Oh, that x 1,000,000.

Extra points for only posting on car/driving topics to disapprove of them.
Worst of all: monomaniac posters who never post about cars, but spend most of their time posting on one particular subject in NPE.

I dislike that since the pay per post payments went down, I'm not making nearly as much money.

Which is the reason I didn't post as much in 2015.

Pretty much the only gripe is...having pages instead of one humungous long page with all eleventy-trillion posts on one. Not so hot for indexing, but there you are.

Good thread - essential reading ime.

Oh, and can we ban everyone I disagree with? Still, it's milder than Mumsnet, CiF, Guido, ARRSE and many others.

Smilies.
Or rather people whose sole reply is a single smiley, usually in the joke thread. I click on the thread in My Stuff, wait ages for it to load on my steam powered Internet expecting something funny ( or in Vipers' case,a joke with the punchline explained for the hard of thinking AKA Americans smile) but what do I get?
A smiley! 1 sodding smiley!
