The abusive slaughtering of women on the council thread, pathetic in the extreme.

When opinion is asked for, and LMGTFY is the answer.

When people ask for opinion, and don't get the answer they want, and decide they are being 'trolled'

Frozen sausages / red bull etc. Funny in their day but getting a bit thin now.

Not my first forum, typically the frustrations are along the same lines:

- lack of diversity (women, lgbt, migrants - all present but won't openly speak about it)

- "back in the day we used to have some real characters here, not like now..."

- people not running a search before asking a question

- on the other side: search engine just not working well (haven't tried it on PH yet)

- old fashioned interface and limited mobile compatibility

- admins treating veteran users with the same disrespect and paternalism as new users. That one's driven me away from a few forums in the past.

- people talking about hot men/women/cars/bikes/boats without any pictures to support their claim

- my personal 'favourite': people coming into a discussion, dropping a two-word response and swiftly f***ing off, as if they're in so much of a hurry they can't formulate a proper sentence.

Example thread: "where would you recommend to go on holiday?"

Response #1: "I like X for the beach but my wife prefers Y for the museums"

Response #2: "I think Z is the most cost-effective option, and there's a festival coming up soon"

Response #3: "HOLLAND"

God, I hate these people!!! mad

Bitter envy filled lefties and yoghurt weaving liberals who think that personal abuse is a form of debate when they have no valid answer. Which is all the time.
I blame our failed education system.

If you are so bugged by PH, why don't you go somewhere else? Serious question as it so clearly irks you. Or are you one of life's perpetual moaners in the real world.

Why, when there are some excellent, educated, experienced people here? Just not the bitter envy filled lefties and yoghurt weaving liberals

You can add daft, childish terms like yoghurt weaving to the hate list too....

Glad you enjoyed it. Like I said, not my first rodeo - some of these are generic and not relating to PH.

I would however add one more now: no multi-quote option. Too bad.

How do you weave yoghurt?

I blame my failed education. Must have bunked off that day.

Forums are anchored in the recent past, grab the friends you've made and hang on to them in another media because this one is dying.

Delusional oddballs, often with multiple accounts / names posting utter bks. Watching the swift fall from grace is often hilarious though.

Snobbishness and being declared some kind of communist revolutionary if you don't support the kind of world view which makes Trump look like a moderate.

The amount of angry miserable sods who only seem to come on here to moan.

And the fantasist thread, if the no amateur sleuthing rule was around when I was more active I would have been banned a million times over.

It was never going to last, as soon as a link which includes a posters details gets posted it was only going to go one way.

The good things about the threads are pretty obvious: the amazing sources of help from knowledgeable posters; the posts that make you laugh; the posts that make you cry; the camaraderie (sometimes); the opportunity to learn and so on. But what don't you like?

I'll start with two.

- The posters who read the OP and nothing else, and then pile in with their opinion which has - almost certainly - already been offered. I know some of the long threads won't necessarily be read completely, but at least try and get a gist of what's been going on. If you repeated other previous comments in a pub conversation everyone would think you're a dick, so why do it here?

- The posters who post simply to say that the thread is distasteful or boring or whatever. If it doesn't appeal, just ignore it. To stick with the pub example, if you broke in to a group and told them that you thought the conversation was st, everyone would think you're a dick, so why do it here?

What have I missed?
People who can't post without swearing.

I agree with all of the above. And maybe it's just me, but do you feel a bit grubby after having posted/browsed in the NP&E forum?
I think I've pretty much given up with that place, although GG and the Lounge are getting just as bad. frown

Not really.

It's either 'other media' or 'another medium'.

Has that gone now, too? Some delicate little flowers about - happy to willy-wave about how hard/rich/epic when they think people will fellate them, but soon run crying to Moddys when it bites them on the bum.
