Poor people and credit
Discussion
I wouldn't dress any differently, have expensive watches or buy new cars on finance even if I was richer than Bill Gates. I see clothes as fripperies, expensive watches as vulgar pointless statements of "look how rich I am" and wouldn't enjoy a rented car in the same way as one that's truly mine, no matter how shiny.
I really hope this thread is poor quality trolling. If you really get offended by 'poor people' possessing 'premium' branded products then you must be a sad, shallow little person.

Well said.I really hope this thread is poor quality trolling. If you really get offended by 'poor people' possessing 'premium' branded products then you must be a sad, shallow little person.
I don't know why this thread wasn't binned from the moment it started, and it's not exactly going to go anywhere.

It's all a show. Pretence, dear boy. The fact that a lot of the stuff people claim ownership of is actually owned by a finance company or bank is neither here nor there. They can't afford their material goods, but the game is aspiring to a lifestyle which is beyond their means & pulling the wool over other people's eyes in the process.
Taking out finance on a watch? Time to reassess what's important in life.
This is my brother all over. 45yrs old and spends his time posting up photos of every piece of shiny materialistic st he buys on Facebook to try and lord it over his 400 or so Facebook 'friends'. He's such an insufferable prick as he seems to think success is defined by how much crap he owns yet he never seems to actually enjoy any of it. Eg, the special edition iWatch only he had yet a few months later he's quietly trying to flog. We had a huge falling out recently because he was moaning elsewhere about the cost of a service (£250ish) on his M235i and I called him out on his bullst and said that it was on PCP, I just couldn't stand the lies anymore, he's become such a tedious bore it makes me want to put a .45 in my mouth and pull the trigger. Taking out finance on a watch? Time to reassess what's important in life.
A year or so back my boss lent me his M3 for a few weeks whilst he went away, our other brother told him it was mine and he was seething, I went round to show it him and the first thing he said was "I've been on to BMW to see about upgrading to one". Stop, ffs, just stop!

A "hilarious" response to http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... I think.
I think you're absolutely right, but it is quite funny watching everyone taking it ever so seriously and getting bent out of shape over it! Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
