I've spent the day building a model engine that I got for my birthday, my wife's cooked dinner for this evening and taken the dog for a walk. This evening we'll watch rubbish on the telly while surfing on our iPads. Perfect Sunday not spoilt by stupid manufactured romance that neither of us either want or need.

Feel sorry for anyone who feels pressurised into doing the right thing, especially if their other half is stupid/shallow/pathetic enough to think it's important.

Didn't bother, but we never do anyway as our wedding anniversary is on the 18th and we joy that more.

She's also 4,000 miles at the moment smile

Who dared not to bother?

I wimped out and got a card for peace keeping purposes.

She didn't get me one and now I "made her feel bad" so we've had waterworks hehe

Cannot win.

Card and some of her favourite sweets so far. Might try and find a little something else.

She gave me a set of keys to her house...nothing I get (other than a ring which my friend pointed out) is going to beat that really.

Been at the mother in laws since Thurs, popped out shopping on Fri and she whispered to me, "have you got everything for Sunday?"

My reply of nope nope nope, I don't buy in to being ripped off for stuff I can buy at the still inflated price but the right price on Monday.

Well she was not to happy let me tell ya, even went to clear it with MRS400, who promptly informed her that yes its true im tight..... but she ll just go off and buy herself something anyway.

Every year the same, A bouquet of carnations/chrysanths, a couple of days before Valentine's with the cheesy line "I love you every day, not just the 14th".
The flowers are much cheaper, they're for her not for Valentines, so the smarty points are doubled.
They'll still be alive on Valentines, so you've met your obligations, and she gets to brag all over bloody Facebook about how her man's so romantic.
Win-win for me.
I did the flowers thing the day before last year, didn't do anything this year expecting her to do likewise.

Oops.

I am currently sealing the bath and fitting a new shower screen. The OH is helping (in the middle of suffering with kidney stones). This is how I know he loves me, so a bit of red coloured card is meaningless.

£25 for roses that were a tenner last week?

I've got the silly cow a bunch of daffodils I found tied to a jaunty lamppost.

My Mrs said lets not bother and just book a weekend away. She's learning well I thought after my protest last year. Ended up giving a card and a mug and I got some Ferraro Roche and a card. We did however book our summer holiday so she was well happy.

First valentines day with the new GF this year, but as I'd booked tickets to see Vic and Bob live a while ago we made a night of it and went out for something to eat before hand, so our Valentines stuff was done Thursday really.

She knows my opinion in it being commercial and st but I gave in and got her a card/flowers as well as the tickets. She's got us a GoApe day and a 500ml bottle sized Coca Cola chewy sweet bottle for me so I'm more than pleased hehe

You may be able to tell romance isn't high on the list of stuff we enjoy, more randomness.

'er Birthday yesterday, and neither of us can stand the commercial crap.

I did a 9 hour shift at Krispy Kreme and she did 9 hours at Millie's Cookies. Neither of us care.

Although we do random romantic gestures...
