The 2016 summer and thunder thread

Amazing cloud formation on the way home from work yesterday. It was a huge grey thing that filled the sky and at one point, had a sort of triangle element that was just about touching the ground.
It chased me my 25 miles home and then hammered the house with rain shortly after I arrived.
Was quite funny because every time I looked in my rear view mirror, it was like the end of the world was following me.

Absolutely blazing sun here all day in the Lake District!
The Lambo's and Ferrari's were cruising up and down the lakeside at Windermere and there was heaps of tourists.
Here is a shot from a moving car.. The mountains were covered in snow yet there wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was absolutely T Shirt weather all day. Beautiful.

Forecast for the weekend in and around the Loch Awe area (Friday / Saturday) and the Loch Lomond (S.E Side) Saturday / Sunday?
Looks wet to me - or possibly deserves to be in the snow thread?!
This this point, too early to call. There's a good chance of low pressure coming in from the NW, which I'm afraid means cool, windy and some rain.Looks wet to me - or possibly deserves to be in the snow thread?!
As a general outlook, after that there are *some* signs of potential winds from the continent. Warmth could be on the cards starting around middle of next week or slightly later. But that's subject to a lot of possible change.

Its going to be wall to wall sunshine and 17 degreees Celcius for the next month?
Ha!No, but of course this being Britain nothing is simple. Plume of warm air coming up from the South this week, building up to the weekend.
Warm, muggy - and good potential for fireworks. We should break 20oC in the South around Friday.
