I briefly saw some brightness at about 4pm.

Not sure if the sun made an appearance ,gone grey again now.

Lovely evening here. Some good sun, wind dropped and some dark clouds in the distance ready to be turned all sorts of colours by the sunset.

Heh heh, with better weather it could be almost anywhere smile

Nice moon last night too.

Hope you are all massively disappointed by the lack of storms this weekend. Southampton boat show today and out tomorrow lunchtime from Poole - just me and Mrs Seefive for a 4-5 hours afternoon on the water.

Come on sun, shine you bugger...

Is that purely optimism or something in the charts? smile

Last year was not so great, but I am sure we enjoyed 3-4 Indian summers on the trot with temps approaching 80F, in the south anyway

Some of the charts showing the Azores High paying a visit mid-week next week. Cool nights and hopefully hitting 20oC in the South.

Puggit Jnr is off on a week long outward bound type course in Snowdonia - perfect!

Next week got more complicated. Jet Stream hits the north. South mostly benefits from High.

Keeping an eye on next week - but the models can't decide. Hurricane Karl (well, its remains) will hook on to the jet stream and head NE towards the UK. The exact track has major ramifications for our weather. If it takes a southerly course, then the northern parts of the UK will endure some pretty rubbish weather.

If it takes a northerly course, we could end up dodging that bullet, but receiving some warm air that it drags up with it, followed by a space for high pressure to take over. Potentially low-mid 20s in the SE and south coast next week.

Yesterday was pretty pleasant and so it looks for next week too. High pressure to pay a visit - low 20s possible mid week in the South.

Nice. I will look forward to that. Just walked for half an hour through Manchester in the rain with a small formal jacket and no umbrella... Drying out in the hotel room now.
