Next week starting to look interesting for the heat lovers.

Classic Spanish plume territory though - could be hot but short lasting.

Temps start to climb now - we should be hitting low 20s in the South on Sunday. After that a gradual climb up to 26oC or so in the SE, with above 20oC across England and Wales for Friday.

High humidity likely and a clash of cold air from Scandinavia and warm air from the South should be capable of impressive fireworks.

After the heat, it starts getting very difficult to predict in to the following weekend. Could be an Atlantic onslaught, but a small chance of keeping hold of the summer.

Our heating is set to 15oC and it came on this morning - quite a shock.

Meanwhile in Northern Ireland it's been in the low 20s this week!

12'c in my workshop this morning, I don't really mind this as it's fine for physical work. A bit too cold for sitting at a desk though!

Unlucky Alex, but it doesn't look that bad?

If you will live in a flat country next to a major river delta wink

When you're under one of those supercells, it is constant noise. Really quite amazing.

Downpour is in full swing here in Milton Keynes and quite a few rumbles of thunder.

Live storm radar looks busy:

I work in Henlow Camp, it didn't so much rain as dump a single sodding great lump of water from a great height!

I kept a good eye on the rain radar, watched it creep towards Leicester and then retreat

Heavy flooding in my old home town of Penicuik today, only 3 miles up the road.

This is the underpass at my daughters school. That's about 5 foot deep!
