Some extemremely heavy rain crossing over from NE France. Will effect Sussex mostly to start and probably head towards M4 corridor

Nasty weekend coming up, low pressure in charge.

Tentative signs of high pressure in the following week, particularly for the South, with southerly winds. Low pressure may remain to the NW, sorry Scotland...

I'm hearing chatter of a heatwave next week?
GFS model produced a stunning high pressure chart. It was one run that a few foolhardy people shouted about and the press got hold of.

Afraid the Atlantic express is powering up. Low pressure to dominate for a while but on the plus side the South could see SW and SE winds - giving above average temps and good risk of thunder for everyone.

I've a few days free that week, is it worth booking somewhere, west or east?
Stand down on the heat frown

Should still be relatively pleasant for the weekend, particularly the further South and West you are. East coast might be hit by cool winds off the sea.

Widespread heavy showers and possible thunder risk for today, down the spine of the country and across central southern England.

Cracking photo ^ ^ ^

The good news - no Atlantic conveyor belt.
The bad news - no high pressure.

A real mixture of weather at the moment. Nothing is in control. Plenty of small low pressure systems wondering around, but also the odd high pressure ridge.

Going forwards, Scotland could well have the better weather thanks to HP anchored around Iceland. As for BH Monday... Not brilliant, not the usual wash out either. Could be breezy and don't discount rain.

Some tasty storms crossing from NW France at the moment - most likely to hit Cornwall/Devon/Dorset (in order of likelihood).

BH weekend is looking slightly warmer than of late, nothing special. BH Monday has a threat of low pressure coming from Germany (yup, totally wrong way around). Could start ruining BBQs in East during the afternoon or evening, but plenty of unknowns on the forecast currently.

Looking forwards from that - high pressure, maybe...

Well plenty of what this thread is about this weekend:

Graphic from @UKWeatherLive

Warm air and low pressure = fireworks smile

Keep an eye on Monday's weather - it's still uncertain but could be very wet for the East.

According to my basic weather App, the south looks to be warming up from next Monday!
Yup.

Poor week ahead as the low pressure over Europe comes our way. Then high pressure ridges in from the NW and we'll have some good weather.

Current thinking is 2nd half of June will see things back to normal and wet - the Atlantic has been very quiet of late...

Next week starting to look interesting for the heat lovers.

Classic Spanish plume territory though - could be hot but short lasting.

Temps start to climb now - we should be hitting low 20s in the South on Sunday. After that a gradual climb up to 26oC or so in the SE, with above 20oC across England and Wales for Friday.

High humidity likely and a clash of cold air from Scandinavia and warm air from the South should be capable of impressive fireworks.

After the heat, it starts getting very difficult to predict in to the following weekend. Could be an Atlantic onslaught, but a small chance of keeping hold of the summer.

Our heating is set to 15oC and it came on this morning - quite a shock.

Meanwhile in Northern Ireland it's been in the low 20s this week!

When you're under one of those supercells, it is constant noise. Really quite amazing.

Afraid not, but don't rule out something bubbling up. Storms around Newbury area slowly moving NW.
