Afraid we're heading in to a sustained cool and unsettled spell. The NW will bear the brunt, with the SE clinging on to the occasional chance of average temps.
Too early to tell maybe but any idea likely conditions for next Sunday in the Milton Keynes area? I'm doing a half ironman and hoping it doesn't rain. Can handle heat or it being cool but if it is likely to rain I may swap my tyres.
Difficult to tell this far out. Right now it's looking like low pressure to the north, high pressure over France. 18oC or so. Some rain around, but nothing heavy.

You'll need to keep checking, as the current charts won't be accurate on rainfall.

Charts are still showing a band of rain passing from the South on Sunday, through the day. High pressure follows on behind (briefly).

Indian summers are lovely things. There's something deeply pleasing about having a 'proper' autumn all New England colour style.

You never know, maybe one of these days we'll be able to bbq on Xmas day.

I agree!

I'd swap a month of 25+ degree weather in August for a month of 20+ degrees in October!!

There's a low risk of light rain now, but charts aren't showing anything 'organised'. I would plan for dry - but check again!

Temps around 18oC. Probably as good as it gets in terms of not hindering you!

Afraid as a general outlook, the horror show continues in to next week.

Better chances of 20oC in the South with a weak ridge of high pressure, but the North continues to be miserable. Second half of next week could be particularly miserable in the N/NW.

Super thanks. I think I will leave tyres as is. I can always lower the pressure on the day if it looks damp which gives a bit ore ground contact.

Can you believe June 2016 CET was about 1.3C warmer than average, top 50/60 out of 360 odd.

(They're still going on about the record Heathrow concrete/tarmac/jet engine exhaust enhanced 37C last year, no shame, should be struck from the record books.)

On a positive note, there's been no talk of a hosepipe ban yet. Not like those summers pre Brexit, oh no!

Some signs of improvement. Nothing permanent or amazing but a high pressure ridge looks like it will deliver low 20s, with the south particularly benefitting.

June 2016 CET ended up @ 15.2C, +1.1C, ranked 65 or so.

For comparison, June 1976 ranks 5th @ 17.0C, which is cold compared to the record 1846 @ 18.2C

(supposed) Global warming is obviously missing out June.

Promising. I'm off to Torquay for the next two weeks, can I expect decent summer and thunder?

That's me done. I am off for a couple of weeks from today and it looks like I am going to get a very nice mix of weather. Sun and storms...

A relatively good week for the South, but low pressure never too far away off the NW coast. Sadly for Silverstone it looks like that low pressure will come in closer for the weekend. Things can change though.

Some promising signs for the the second half of July - but it would be just as easy for low pressure to keep hanging around!

After some lovely high 20s and early 30s temps down in the Alps, we have headed north and now it's an average grey day in the Somme. Heading back to Blighty in a couple of days (Winterfell) where it's been grim and will continue to be by the looks of things

Saturday is looking great!

Actually - this low pressure will suck up some pretty warm air (and humidity) from the continent...
