Some charts projecting a mini heatwave next week. Possible temps above 30oC if they're to be believed.

Certainly looking assured of one or two days in the mid 20-s for the SE. Possibly hotter and a little longer. Northern England, Scotland, Wales and Devon/Cornwall could miss out on the proper heat.

Good news for warmth lovers with the overnight charts showing the heat should last Tue-Thurs, warm on Fri and pleasant enough for the weekend.

Very interesting chart here:

Notice the temps in France wayyyyyy below UK as a low pressure system hits them.

Storms rolling in to the SW this morning, already. West and North are the hotspots for thunder today. Heat in the SE, particularly London, Kent, maybe EA.

Heathrow already at 30.2 degrees. Amazing, we're 30 miles west and it's not exactly hot...

Good hour of thunder here in Swanage, disrupted my CPR training. Looks like the heatwave has died already though.

Further storms just leaving France for the same areas...

Think I'll drive up the M1 to Manchester this afternoon!

I'm about 2/3 miles south east of Heathrow and it's roasting here already.

Absolute belter of a storm in the Midlands. Lots of lightning hitting the ground as queued around the M42. Really enjoying it until the bridge I was driving under got struck.

Holy effing flipcakes!

It has just gone so dark in Macclesfield that the street lights have come on and the birds have headed off to roost!. Strange watching the dark clouds roll in and it really has gone dark, like the apocalypse . A few bolts of lightning and a rumble or 2 of thunder.

Sunny again in S Wales. Missing the thunder and rain. I mean, Sunny, in Wales? Come on.
