Is London gonna get any of this storm action this week?

Been carrying on for ages in Manchester, much sheet lightning and constant thunder and the weirdest sky and light, looking brighter on the horizon now.

I wonder if the City CL game will be affected?

Well fook me, I was riding my bicycle home in that and genuinely bloody terrified, cycling from Knutsford to Wilmslow, the water was six inches deep in places, I thought it would peter out, it just got worse, lightning struck a scaffold around a house just to my right in Mobberley, was glad to get off it, weirdly enjoyable in a way.

Ha ha, Macclesfield Town (I can see the floodlights of the ground from our house) tweeted this morning to get people to the game vs Wrexham tonight as it would be 25 degrees and sunny. They've just tweeted this evening that the game has now been postponed as the pitch is now waterlogged. A very disgruntled fan who has travelled from Plymouth for the game has pointed out their earlier tweet!

Pretty baddass storm rubbing through baildon at the minute, no much thunder but the lightning strikes are incredible! Every 3-5 seconds would be about accurate. Watching some poor sod trundle down the street in the torrential rain in a hoody haha

I was working in Elland, I finished about an hour ago, I got soaked to the skin with the heaviest rain I have ever seen and the most spectacular lightning. The journey back to Birstall on the m63 was a bloody nightmare, deep standing water and being blinded by the lightning, not much fun at all

M62?

I pulled up on the bypass where they have the monthly PH meet to watch it across the Pennines and all around as it's quite high up there, a van pulled up alongside to do the same, then another! It's still so warm i've got the patio doors open.

Hit Holmfirth at about 7:15 last night and it was amazing! Some lighting strikes very close to the house with one hitting the church just down the road and some of the cracks of thunder that followed we're unreal!

Did feel sorry for the many cyclists I saw who'd obviously been caught out though, this wasn't forecast round here and with the weather the way it was it had obviously drawn a lot of them out!

Yes sorry fatfingered typing, in my head I wrote m62

I suspect the thread will be over soon.

One last day for summer tomorrow, with thunder warnings for central and southern England.

Friday sees another weather warning. Autumn arrives from the Atlantic. Sharp drop in temperature and prolonged rain frown

Today's thunder risk map, shouldn't be anything like Tuesday's MCS event!

Looking at the lunchtime weather it looks like it could be every bit a lively this evening for central southern england and moving eastwards tomorrow.

Port Solent. Blue skies, 26 degrees, local radio station ranting on about monsterous rain and storms, no signs and absolutely nothing on lightningmap.

So, where is it all coming from then? I've cancelled a beer in the sun this afternoon!
