Jeez. Faux leather AND a larger-than-necessary TV. Ideal for watching Jeremy Kyle whilst munching on Tesco Value crisps.
laugh

Somehow knew that'd end up in here, although I don't watch Jeremy Kyle or eat crisps. I am unashamedly a bit council though.

Init.

House a couple of streets away from me (surrounding houses are perfectly fine and it's not a bad area):

Massive caravan in the front 'garden' (wall has been crudely knocked down to make way for it)

Chav-tastic display of crap Christmas lights (turned on late November)

Remaining garden and drive are littered with a selection of children's toys in poor condition

But… it's not quite council enough for you? You think you need something to delineate you from all those other council types. Perhaps a talking point, hmmm?

Council bonus point:

Knackered Clio with a DVLA clamp attached (been there for over a week)

So, you'll pay a fortune to light up your house so it resembles a nauseous mix of Blackpool illuminations, a cheap brothel and Santa's dreams after a night on the Absinthe followed by an industrial strength Vindaloo, yet you can't 'afford' to tax and insure your car?

Council.

Wrestling. Thinks it's real. Claims to know it's fake. Really thinks it's real. Has a favourite. Hates most of the rest. Watches learning forwards from the edge of the sofa.

Ford Mustang? Council? Hmmm.... no, I don't see that...

IMHO, THIS sort of thing is 'council'...

I'd say its a car that's throughly loved by council types, kind of guilty by association.

A council type would love to go to Florida for 2 weeks and drive around in a base spec convertible mustang.

I have a mustang on order so maybe I'll just have to embrace my inner council when it's delivered and brighthouse some colourful appliances but when I drive past the local estate it's full of old BMW's, heavily abused Subarus, limited edition Corsas and Zafiras plus whatever can be scammed from the Motability scheme. Never seen any yank cars.

Might love to, but probably would never afford it. Council dwellers would also love a large detached house and a Porsche, but that doesn't make large detached houses and Porsches a bit council. The family holiday I took to Florida 2 years back cost me 9 grand and that was without a hire car.

The way this thread has gone, anything that isn't an Audi is a bit council rolleyes

Left school pregnant with no qualifications, wiped a few pensioners arses before getting stuck into being a union leader. An illustrious career in public sector doing nothing but complaining.

Boasting about how much a trip to the holiday destination equivalent of TGI Fridays cost.

Council. hehe

Actually have we had TGI? It's a place council types go for a nice meal out.

TGI Fridays, Frankie and Bennys, Nandos, any pub described as a Carvery, Miller & Carter when you feel posh - all council.

Not putting a question mark at the end of a question.

Council.

Also, misaligned headlights.

I'm aghast at the number of cars trundling about with just one headlamp this year. Time for compulsory spare bulb kits!

I saw a mark 1 X5 on the A46 the other day that had the angel eyes headlights - twin rings of light within the headlight unit. On this car they were green. Council.

Except in most modern cars you can't change the by the side of the road anyway (but that design helps give them a 5 star NCAP rating, so it's perfectly safe)
