So the lady that won 14.5 m on the Euro millions is actually "our" tenant ! House contents now in a skip with her neighbours going through them.
Obviously wisely she has ticked "maximum publicity" for an easy life. Ffs.
And when she has blown the lot she will return asking for her house back. Obviously wisely she has ticked "maximum publicity" for an easy life. Ffs.

Ahhh, Mr. Smirk.Obviously wisely she has ticked "maximum publicity" for an easy life. Ffs.
I was listening to council radio today (Talk Sport). Given that we have a shortage of social housing, why the feck were they advertising silly right to buy discounts (up to £103k in London, apparently!) - surely we should be discouraging right to buy, given what a mess it has got us into in the past?

God knows how that's meant to work in London where the local authorities aren't exactly blessed with green or brownfield sites just waiting to be built on.
You'll have to appreciate I need to be careful here.
I understand the house was immediately vacated and it's now void. This info is in the public domain already.
Yep, rtb is bonkers. You just lose good stock and get left with rubbish. Tbf in most of the country it's not a huge issue but in London it makes no sense. When we build new homes, it's on land worth nothing. But how a council is supposed to acquire land in London to then build on?!?!?
Location was on TV last night. Couple looking at the most awful homes (1bed flats and bsrs) for 500 k.
How does any of that stack up ? Well it doesn't and yr never going to help those on a low income pull them selves up.

Well I'm as far from a socialist as you'll get, but I have to agree with you. The RTB applicants were always the traditional working class, people with lowish incomes but a steady job who maintained their homes and had some sort of pride in their house. They have to a large degree exercised their right, and we have a large percentage of unemployed and unemployable failing to give a toss about what they live in. The only thing positive about RTB is that some families that would never have had what you'd call an inheritance have now gained quite considerable sums - aqlthough it only means something if they already have their own home.I understand the house was immediately vacated and it's now void. Takes me back. I was in charge of mortgage lending in my home city for one of the largest building societies at the time of RTB introduction. We had an ultra-left wing council who were fuming at the whole thing. We completed the first RTB purchase in the city, but it took months and months. The council insisted on passing every single letter or communication on to their solicitor for perusal and advice, and then responding eventually to our question or recommendation. I'm talking weeks just to answer something. All deliberate of course, and the would-be house buyer knew this. We didn't want to fall out with the council, but our directors were right-wing Thatcherites, and dug their heels in. All I wanted was an easy life.
receipts from RTB sales went to central govt historically and NOT back to the local authority. Insane.
I think on balance, not a bad thing- people got to have their own homes. this instills pride in an area.
however I remember when 90 yr old pensioners would suddenly purchase their home: guess what its family doing it- to profit in a year when doris pops off.
anyway RTB is no more, the discounts are vastly different.
Of course I remember all the purchasers then becoming homeless when they failed to keep up the payments on their purchased house........... then demanding another house for free.
as guess what, banks tend to foreclose, unlike a landlord when the mortgage doesn't land each month.

anyone on here ? home made, unsafe drive that "you have to bounce up the kerb to get up", outside your awful council house.
and then of all things to do, ruin your wife's shoes- thus costing "you" money. just to ensure your relationship bodes well.
oh and tell the media
