Facebook, twitter, social media in general is a bit council.

Out for a family meal we watched in dismay as one table (2 adults, 2 kids) were all head down in their mobiles only stopping for food. No conversation or interaction.
How do you know there was no interaction? They could have been messaging each other via any number of applications.
which would be very council...

It's even better on draught. I was in Gdansk back end of 2015 and drank gallons of Tyskie at a quid a pint. It's a great city to visit with plenty of very cheap but excellent food and drink on offer. Being on a stag do, we also went firing an array of guns including an AK-47, Polish army issue M-16 type thing, Glock pistol, Uzi set to semi auto and most fun of all, a bloody great pump action shotgun. Weapons-grade council.
I went to Las Vegas a few years back and tried an M249 squad assault weapon, fully automatic belt fed council laugh
I blaffed about $200 dollars worth of ammunition with the help of an AK47 in Florida. However I paid with my Corporate Amex Card....Successfully fiddling your expenses is white collar not council.

I went to Tesco on the way home from running club. Behind me in the queue was a very council looking women that ended up on the till next to me. She was very polite in any company and even asked the lady* on the till if she would like her to pack her bag for her, because she had already started. It's very annoying when people don;t do as you expected them to

  • the lady on the till is very small, has no teeth and looks like she's smokes a lorry load of tobacco so probably appreciated someone packing their own shopping.

Yes, unless you're David Attenborough.

Yes, unless you're David Attenborough.
Or you have a fondness for Jane Goodall

Fray Bentos pies rock, and they are a big family tradition. Not so much council, as post war austerity food.

My American aunt was born in the UK but left aged about age 8 when my grandparents emigrated. One of her lasting childhood memories is of Tyne Brand and Frey Bentos tinned pies.

She comes back to Britain once a year and rents a house for a month or two. When we go to visit we always have Frey Bentos pies, mash - usually proper mash - and tinned peas cooked with an Oxo cube until it becomes a thick green/black sludge.
They are on offer in Morrisons at the moment! Time to stock up! I also didn't realise how many different sorts there are, I'm clearly not down wiv da council cuisine, innit.

This was on the same shelf. I'm convinced it is only a printed label away from dog food.

We were actually tempted by the orangutan in the right of that picture as something utterly absurd to be sitting in the garden, but the price tag of £160 put us off..

Canonbury 'Antiques' do a whole range of this sort of tat but in 'up market' bronze Unfortunately the animals all look like they were sculpted by a Chinese guy who had never actually seen the animal he was sculpting and just went off a vague description that his mate, who had been to the zoo as a child, gave him. This is a £3250 Gorilla by the way.

I buy goblin stewed steak from poundland and take it camping with me.
Throw in a tin of mixed veg/sweetcorn/kidney beans and some mild chilli powder and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, then pour over some boiled new potatoes=yummy!
