boom: lots of daily fail unhappy faces here and the usual inaccurate reporting.

As it finally mentions, of course the council offered her a home, they must do as she is a "vulnerable person" in the eyes of the Housing Act.

she decides not to live in it, pretending to live in a car. as if.

seen it all a 1000 times before, along with the pretend tent dwellers and so on.

Her fella works so why don't they pay to rent somewhere?

Expecting everyone else to pay for your lifestyle just because you let someone shoot his bolt inside you......... Council!

Must be something missing from that. whenever a council can't find them accomodation they get placed into a Hotel. being pregnant puts her infront of all sorts of people in terms of priority.

I know PH can get a bit lively, but Mecca Bingo!?
Give that girl some negative points for having a job?

Giving an interview for such a story to be printed about oneself; a bit council
Not complaining about the council in the interview and having a legal job of any description; a bit normal
"Working" as a Moderator???? Is that actually a "thing"? And do the mods on here get paid for indulging their power-crazed egos, or do they do it out of the kindness of their hearts?

"One woman at the council also said I shouldn't have a baby if I couldn't afford it which was horrible"

No it's not. It's common sense and something most of us have to take into account.
The sense of entitlement that has become the norm riles me somewhat. furious

Doesn't seem like too bad a way of earning money if you have kids and need to be at home - a quick look online shows it pays nearly £19k / year plus 30% bonus for unsociable hours.

In the 'powerfully built director' world, that's not a lot - but for a stay at home mum, that's a respectable wage!
I wasn't being condescending about the job, just more surprised that:

a) Mecca Bingo has an online forum
b) it requires a paid moderator

Every day's a school day!

the reason a pregnant lady, or adult with children or a single person with associated health issues (this could be mental health, drug, alcohol abuse or simply a need to store and use medication (diabetic say) is cared and looked after by this amazing country of ours, is because homelessness legislation places a duty on the welfare authority to assess the person should they present as homeless.

whilst you make investgations and a decision, you have to house them: you cannot leave them on the street.

a person needs to prove very little: a balance of probability is all that is required. obviously you have to prove who you are and yr eligibility for assistance, but in the case of domestic violence: a statement is enough to be helped.

not many single men really want help or housing- they tend to live transitory lifestyles and rock up when its cold for a night or too. I'm not saying they want to be drug or alcohol dependant- but they also don't tend to want loads of rules and a tenancy.

anyway, this girl is a silly child and would be better off being looked after at such a young age by her mum and dad, not some other feckless 19 yr old. it'll end in tears, it always does.
