Really is about time they cracked down on the likes of Brighthouse.
Why? Nothing wrong with their business model. They cater for the dregs of society and the high risk of them defaulting is reflected in the prices they charge. No-one is forcing you to use them and if you manage your finances like any sensible person would do then you have no reason to use them anyway.Justayellowbadge said:

Cretins.

Shopping at Asda - council.I've got one. I was chatting to my nephew at the weekend, his mate at school (in the first year at secondary school), goes to the same school as his uncle (he's in the fifth year at secondary school). All seems a bit council to me.

Apart from the ones that then pawn it straight away and then default on the payments. Knew somebody who used to work there and this is, apparently, a common occurrence
Happens loads, after 21-22 weeks off not paying the agent and not answering the door another company writes the goods off. Each payment made before is factored in, they just move on to the next customer AllyBee said:

Not necessarily. I had a friend at school from a relatively posh family. Her mum's youngest sister was the same age, so at secondary school she shared classes with her aunt... big family in an old money style. I've got one. I was actually up on the deal, but I'm guessing Bright House weren't. I let the bloke in for a quick look around so he could check it had all gone & I re-let the house. Odd way to live your life for a woman with a couple of kids.

For fks sake!
We've got a corner couch coming for our decidedly not council Victorian (ex-mill owners) house.
I thought it was nice.
I wouldn't worry about it. We've got a corner couch coming for our decidedly not council Victorian (ex-mill owners) house.

After all, even though all blackbirds are black, yet not all black birds are blackbirds.

There was a pub just off J3 of the M40 and it was called 'The White Blackbird'. Presumably the landlord was called Al Beano...

Wasn't it this woman...?its about the space, setting and dressing of a room that enables a corner sofa to be purchased. I suspect Dogstar, you have the appropriate setting !
a soft cushion, draylon, cord type thing,or faux leatherette with recliners, built in fridge and sound system, wedged into the living room of a 1950's council house, typically blocking a door partially..........perhaps not.
its up there with round bed type armchairs, especially if they spin.
I was once so accommodating I changed the design slightly of a 4 bed wheelchair house (with grd floor bedroom and wetroom- so it was massive) to allow for a corner sofa to be fit in the living room. The child had the worst disability (I think one of 6 in the UK only) Ive ever seen in my career.
So I find a plot of land, find money, instruct architects, build them a house and yet the parents are fretting about a FFFFFFFFF NNGGGGGGG sofa. You could not make it up. I remember saying to them that its highly unlikely anyone in owner occupation would have a house this large, in the real world.
