Although their ads are a little more upmarket now they appear to have rested the shouty man.

How very council.

On the subject of Safestyle, I'd say they're council. Their customers seem to be the type that don't shop around and end up not getting a good deal, which is invariably the tactic of the council type.

Surely council would involve getting the LHA to pay for new windows? That Safestyle advert was so awful I'm still not convinced it wasn't some sort of deliberate avant-garde experiment

Wrong. I got the best deal from them for our lovely front door. We went to all local suppliers who took the complete piss with price, safestyle came in and I simply said I've had five other quotes so rather than phoning your manager for a deal, if you give me your absolute best price right now, you will likely walk out with a deal.

He came in over a grand cheaper and lower than my in the head price. Shook hands and he knew straight away he could have gone higher and I knew I could have pushed lower. Did a fantastic job too. They also glazed my partners house and after 9 years a window mech broke, no questions or quibbles they came and fixed it.

I'm pretty certain they used to recruit their window fitters via the probation service.

Timpsons do that, their reoffending rate is greatly reduced - looks to work very well in my book.

There's a Money Programme (I think) podcast with the MD/CEO talking about it.

Is there a difference between giving a probationer access to your house and everything in it through a six foot square hole and giving them a pair of smelly Russel and Bromley Brogues?

I'd say the attraction to reoffend may be larger in one circumstance than the other.

Yeah but who in their right mind would disclose their address whilst having a key cut ?

How about 30 roma gypsies plus nearly as many kids standing around a car listening to music surrounded by piles of their rubbish.
Theres a really nice small private estate around the corner from mine.
The developers sold several flats to a housing association who promptly moved in roma gypsies which really annoyed the private owners and did wonders for the area.
Any semi decent night brings them all out just standing around leaving rubbish every where.

I used to work for Logica in Didsbury in Manchester. On the ground floor of the building was some ambulance chasing outfit owned by him - the staff all appeared to be the worst dregs available.

He used to rock up occasionally in some great big bad taste Bentley or RR and think he was some kind of superstar. I remember walking past a window and he was walking round the office clapping his hands above his head screaming "COME ON!!! MAKE ME MONEY!!!!!!". Utter bellend.

yeah except have you SEEN their prices... L O L. I had them in for a laugh, they quoted me 9K. And that was INCLUDING the 'let me talk to the manager... if you order right now..' bull.

Local window shop down the road gave me the same thing for 2.2.

I submit they can't be council because if you ARE council there's no way on earth you can afford their windows!

I (ex logica/CGI) remember all of a sudden one day they had just vanished, not too long back from memory too. I hardly frequented that office but for some reason after we bought part of an old FJ contract we had to house some govt developers in that office, despite it not being fit. One month they wre there. the next ghost town.
