'You are entitled to your own opinion', in any context usually means that argument reason and logic have run out of steam and are the only words left to use.
People are entitled to their own opinion, but they are not entitled to their own facts.

The facts don't give a fk what anyone thinks.
Sorry Twig, makes no sense.

tts.
Exactly. People who did die from doing "X" are not around to post on the internet.

This tenuously reminds me of another thing that gets the eyes rolling. People who refer to perfectly normal cars as being 'dangerously slow'. Normally in context of using a courtesy car or being handed the keys to a Citroen Cactus at a Spanish airport. Always think it says a lot more about the forward planning abilities of the poster than any of the cars ever mentioned.

People who slate a car that they have never actually sat in, let alone driven. Anyone can regurgitate a magazine, but surely its not hard to form ones own opinion through actual experience.

Also, as has already been mentioned: Breaks instead of brakes

What pisses me off most about PH is when one person decides to take over a discussion thread by steamrollering everyone else into submission.

They will write out huge long subdivided posts in which they will make spurious claims as if they're the word of God himself. They will pompously accuse everyone else of using strawman and ad hominem arguments. They will make it impossible to have a reasonable discussion through their tedious posting style and possibly most annoying of all they'll use the sniggering smiley which is the badge of the most arrogant of know-it-all prats.
Even worse than that are the whingeing puppies who do use strawmen, go ad hominem at the loss of an argument (i.e. early on), fail to address all aspects of a post they're repying to because they have nothing to offer but will hypocritically criticise others who do, then get annoyed when PHers pick apart what they say, finally running off to cry to mummy in The Lounge about it. At least all the other whiners cam do a me-too and feel better. Not a subdivided post in sight and no smiley, this is rohrl perfection no less and what a relief to have such lofty approval for posting on a public forum...which reminds me, the reeeaaally annoying people are those who moan because they can't control how other people write posts and act like those who think differently are doing something wrong.

Is this post intentionally ironic?

A little harsh. In a longish post, there are only so many times one can use "my wife" to describe her. Some of the alternatives, "the other half", "the missus", "the old lady", "the squeeze", "the ball and chain", "the faultfinder general" are all annoying in their own way.

The current Mrs Blueg33 has no issues with it and lets face it, if I used her name then you wouldn't have a clue who I was referring to which can confuse context. Plus, its boring top keep saying "the wife", "er indoors", "significant other" etc

Sorry Twig, makes no sense.
Certain things are a matter of opinion, stay or leave the EU, bring back the death penalty or not, is a certain car any good?

But someone who thinks evolution is a lie, or some other utter nonsense, in opposition to known facts.... they are an idiot. And evolution carries on in it's own happy way regardless of their stupidity.

Your reply sums up my post quite nicely, cheers. I'm not saying man up in response to him being upset that his parents got murdered, I'm saying it in response to him, on several occasions, being upset over someone not liking his choice in car. I drive a '4 pot turbo' 'VAG' product, which gets about as much hate as anything on this forum. Couldn't give a st though, I'm going to enjoy my blacked out Golf and you can enjoy your car!!
Not sure I've ever been 'upset' about this....perhaps you could provide an example.

Agreed...whenever I see this, it makes me think 'they're not a very good driver'.
Just because they normally drive some powerful PH director car, doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to adapt their driving to suit a different vehicle.

You could put me into ANY vehicle and I would be able to drive it safely. I might not be able to drive it safely at 200mph, but I will be able to drive it safely on the road. Anyone who can't do that and who thinks a car is 'dangerously slow', is not a very good driver.

Perhaps some kind of shortened version could be adopted, such as DW (For Darling Wife) or DH (for Dearest Husband).

This could then be extended to cover other family members such as DD & DS (Darling Daughter/Son).

While we are there perhaps we should change the name of PH to something a little more discriminatory, to keep the youngsters & females out. Might I suggest DadsNet?

silly
