Indeed the instant dislike of someone new who dares to oppose the majority view on here, backed up by the usual suspects.

Posters using "Derv" when they mean "Diesel"

"I filled my car with derv." No you didn't. You filled it with diesel. You did not fill it with other Diesel Engined Road Vehicles. The fuel is called diesel. You put it in your "Derv."

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I'm noticing it more and more and it's really winding me up.

The thing that annoys me the most on here and I really don't know why because I know it shouldn't is when a poster, for example let's say someone called Dave finishes each and every post he writes with 'Dave'.

It is a little informal. 'David' would be more appropriate prior to formal introductions. biggrin

I don't mind the adding of a name to be honest, I think it is very easy to misinterpret the manner in which someone types and I suspect the adding of a name makes a post less impersonal and possibly less likely to have its tone misconstrued?

Love

Beryl.

Perhaps you're right Beryl.

As I said I don't know why it bothers me and I know it shouldn't.

Anyway.

Beryl's a real pretty name. Pics? biggrin

It's personality that matters.

In a totally unrelated matter, are you extremely rich?

The term 'road tax'. Especially when the misunderstood concept is used to argue a point.

E.g cyclists don't pay road tax so they shouldn't be on the road.

Oh yes, add to the list some of the vulnerable road user bashing that appears on here.

Yes, I felt sorry for the OP - some of the posts were at best condescending, at worst bullying.

People who have to discuss every minutiae of their lives on the internet, threads about which supermarket to use, what pants to buy etc.
