Was heading back down the A34 earlier and spotted a white bmw 5 series estate travelling at about 60 in the inside lane, red and yellow battenburg on the boot, yellow and blue checks on the side and a clear light bar. I checked my speed and saw I was doing 70 and had nothing to worry about so headed passed. As I did I glanced over and spotted that instead of Police it said Motorola Systems on the boot.
What the hell was it? It looked like a police car up until you could read the writing on the back. I was in my wifes car so the dashcam may have caught it.
Quite possibly a demonstrator for comms / data systems especially as the mergency services are lookingto reprocure comms systems as airwave is outclassed by current 'civilian' offerings and Mototrola are well regarded in both conventional PMR /DPMR and a supplier of Airwave terminals ... The new EE/Motorola network has to make provision for similar rapid response vehicles so possibly saw one of them.

Actually all this talk of multi-tools has got me reminiscing about last summer
We were to be on standby at a code 6 up here in the November Whisky 5 sector (that's a steam Fayre in the Cheshire region, for you civilians).
Regional command had only the day before got notice from the police that we were authorised to carry a multi-tool on duty. That was three years hard lobbying of the police and various MPs well spent.
I had purchased a hand tooled leather belt holster for this occasion and as I slipped it on to my belt and felt the weight of the tool on my hip I felt we had really arrived.
I slotted a Swiss Army knife into my ankle holster before leaving the house - you can never be too careful when heading out on this kind of job!
The Landy looked great in the early morning sun as I strode out to her pausing only to adjust my Stetson.
It was with great pride that I peeled the backing off the latest sticker for my response vehicle. With the multi tool open carry rule established the Landy was now officially our 'Armed Emergency Response 4x4 Unit'.
