I love the emotive term 'weather bomb'. When I was a lad it was called 'a bit windy'.

Great start to a Waltmobile - flashing lights and all! A few more radios and stickers and it'd be perfect.

All units, stand-by, stand-by. This is a code beige warning. Storm Doris is getting blustery. Further reporting information to follow.

That is one of the better potential Walt wagons so far. A tunic, walkie talkie and a high viz and you could order anyone around.

ETA: For future thread viewers, when that link is long gone, this is what we were looking at:

The only medical equipment supplied is a box of latex gloves on the dash. Perfect!

There's also some lube in the boot.

Probably a selection of rope in the boot for tieing the victims up.

At £1450, doesn't that make it around £1000 over the typical budget for an Emergency 4x4 Response Incident Rescue Ranger Corp vehicle?
Disappointing lack of winch too.

well I take my proverbial hat off to the walt's who closed the roads and helped my daughter's brownie troop march to church on Sunday. All very good and no p taking.

couldn't help thinking though on such a cold, wet, windy day: that maybe wearing hats, gloves and maybe even boots, as oppose to nylon trainers and the odd hoodie type top would be more appropriate clothing. most of the parents were dressed better.

maybe they had't been trained properly ?

no frontera's with light bars though.

Yep, you can pick them up all day long for about £500 - leaves loads of money spare for extra lights and cones!

Unless they started bossing people around, asserting any perceived but non-existent authority over a group of 8 year olds and using the words "comms" or similar, then they do not fall within the acceptable parameters for the gentle mocking that we give them on here.

Instead these just sound like volunteers doing a good job, in which case, thumbs up.

Oh no, they did a splendid job. I just thought some of them might have dressed better for the weather.

especially as yesterday being a girl guide/brownie church/flag walking thing (parade) surely must have instilled the phrase "be prepared" !!!

Were they allowed to close the road?

If they weren't, a rival group of Walts would surely have come and used their winches to clear the Queen's highway?

New to Discovery.... 'Walt Wars'

Rival clans of by-lane vigilantes compete to out-officiate each other with the right to boss around members of the public at stake.
