Flash mobs
They were a real victim of their own sucess. It's almost like they became uncool by being cool.

It didn't help when corporates made their own.
Nothing makes me groan than a flashmob, or anything "Pop up"

"Keep Calm and Carry on"

Oh my god, how fking annoying is that st, its on everything, or at least it was, "Keep calm and get a soft Coated Wheaten Terrier" is one I saw,

Actually, its "Cuddle one"

It seems to have slowed down a bit now, but you just know there are millions of tonnes of t shirts, posters and mugs in warehouses with "Keep Calm" and whatever minority interest after it,

"Keep Calm and Feltch bus Drivers" ?

Ditto hoodies and T shirts with "It's a <insert surname here> thing, you wouldn't understand", so, it is your surname and we wouldnt understand this facet of your family, why, do you have young girls buried in your cellar, do you practice incest regularly ?

Hey, and thanks to the EU, some cocksocket has managed to trademark that phrase despite not actually creating it or discovering it to begin with.

Nu-Metal!

As a long serving rock and heavy rock/metal fan the likes of Limp Bizkit and a whole host of other watered down hip-hop/rock acts which appeared late 90s, early 00s was thankfully short lived.

Agreed, it was tiresome. A few years ago MrsDrSteveBrule came home with a tray which had the slogan 'Keep Calm and Carry' on it. i thought that was borderline acceptable.

Raleigh Burner, Mag Wheels and Dice valve caps biggrin
I desperately wanted all of the above as a child but it never happened. My best friend at the time had the Super Tuff Burner in gold and black but my choice would have been a Skyway in blue with white mags. They are still very cool bikes. I wouldn't say they were a flash in the pan; moreso that they were outgrown and were replaced by Grifters/Bombers or proto-mountain bikes at the time.

If they released adult size versions of the Burner I would be sorely tempted. In my head I'm Mark Webb (search Youtube, you'll be amazed).
