Girls (1990s). Wearing leotards with jeans over them. It looked like they were wearing a top.

When you went for a quick delve you found access to the fun bits was barred by Lycra.

It made a fumble on a park bench, behind a pub, or a bus/train/back of a taxi nigh on impossible.

If you got invited back the leotard increased the uncertainty as to whether you were actually going to get a cup of instant coffee or a fun filled night of carnal delight.
They were called "Bodys"
If it was a body, it would have had poppers at the bottom of the gusset - a bit of deft handling and voila: access.
one of the highlights of my teenage years.
Cider in the park, young ladies, get paired off, arrange some alone time.
A kiss and a fumble.

And then what's this? some sort of lyrca, all in one, barrier - oh there's poppers at the bottom. Hallelujah, smelly fingers hehe

the flick knife comb - my dad bought me one and my mum went ballistic thinking it was a real blade. Once explained to her she was still ranting and raving that it was a stupid idea 'making a comb out of a weapon'

Campri ski jackets and Skidaddle ski jackets. I think Campri was seen as the premier brand? I had a skidaddle first and then a Campri.

Is it an urban legend that in the 60/70's people would sharpen metal combs into weapons to take to nightclubs?

United Colo(u)rs of Benetton?

When I was younger I saw the logo a lot, and then it disappeared overnight. Mind you, having Googled the brand it turns out there's at least one store in the Republic of Ireland. Did it disappear at all or have I simply overlooked it?

There's a huge Benetton store right outside Oxford Circus tube station in what must be one of the most expensive retail positions. I mainly know them from F1 and their tasteless adverts, but that was all a long time ago so I'm not sure who buys their clothes anymore. Maybe they're old people clothes now?

Daniel Poole 'DP' jumpers
Calvin Klein 'cK' t-shirts.
The Versace sun emblem on everything (maybe just a Glasgow thing as we had a Versace shop and the only thing most people could afford was a t-shirt with it in the middle).
Katherine Hamnett (again Glasgow had a shop so maybe a localised thing).
Hackett was big for a short while I think until it was pointed out that hackit is a local term for a lady you don't find particularly attractive.

Not so much a craze but I remember Glasgow having lots of independent men's clothes shops. Navy Blue, Gilmore's, Smith's, Lesley G, Ted Baker, The Warehouse, Dr Jives, Blue Baker, several Cruises plus your Hamnett, Chipie, Versace, Blazer, Lacoste and more I'll have forgotten. Ted Baker went massive, Cruise moved and got bought by Mike Ashley, and the rest are gone. Except Lacoste (last time I looked).

I guess Benetton isn't a flash in the pan then! Like you, I don't know who they sell to anymore.

F C U K was another one that disappeared overnight. Everyone wearing it thought they were bad-ass because if you squint a bit it says a naughty word.

Fruit of the Loom (the little bunch of fruit logo on stuff) was very popular at one time and then suddenly vanished too.

The Sweater Shop.

Global Hypercolour t-shirts, have they been mentioned?

My prediction for the future - adult colouring books.

Are those wheelie shoes for kids still popular? I thought they were the coolest idea ever when I first saw them... to bad I was 20 years past their target demographic. hehe

Thought they had disappeared too, then a few days later saw 2 kids in Sainburys wearing them lol.

Think Fruit of the Loom is still going but they just don't seem to emblazon the logo in a big way like they used to.

Tie-dyed t-shirts anyone?

I know we've done 80-s fashion, but does anyone remember the 80s trousers with little flecks of colour in the weave?

About 1985-6 from memory?

Not sure if the "Going" toy has been mentioned - the orange plastic rugby ball on a pair of strings that you could whip back and forth by pulling the strings apart, trying to whack your friends knuckles on the other end smile
