jYes, very popular at the time amongst the sorts who were into U2 and Simple Minds. The sort who left school and went to work in menswear stores/departments or office work (in our young minds anyway).
Our lot were more into breakdancing/funk/soul etc. and had the long perms and Fila track suits/flame Nike Omega trainers etc.
We loved to hate the Simple minds lot, or U2-ies as we used to call them, as they were a lot closer to the girls which we all used to fancy.
I quite like a bit of Simple Minds from that era now though...

I know we've done 80-s fashion, but does anyone remember the 80s trousers with little flecks of colour in the weave?
About 1985-6 from memory?
These drove teachers crazy back in the day. The way they screamed and shouted when a kid turned up to school in them was hilarious. One particularly mental fat teacher even burst into tears mid-rant as if the flecks are the work of the devil.About 1985-6 from memory?

Girls (1990s). Wearing leotards with jeans over them. It looked like they were wearing a top.
When you went for a quick delve you found access to the fun bits was barred by Lycra.
It made a fumble on a park bench, behind a pub, or a bus/train/back of a taxi nigh on impossible.
If you got invited back the leotard increased the uncertainty as to whether you were actually going to get a cup of instant coffee or a fun filled night of carnal delight.

Cider in the park, young ladies, get paired off, arrange some alone time.
A kiss and a fumble.
And then what's this? some sort of lyrca, all in one, barrier - oh there's poppers at the bottom. Hallelujah, smelly fingers
